I don't care for the Flashpoint versions of characters as baddies, but this should be fun.
Also, the Titans solicit:
Starfire and Donna Troy come to get Roy Harper who has gone into seclusion since the death of his child and loss of his arm, but then Arsenal has to choose between his team and resurrecting his dead daughter.
Actually bring Liam back... even if it is just for a one-shot.... and that will up my good will to DC!
After a year in the dome, Stephanie Brown is not sure she wants to be Batgirl again. But when Flashpoint Catman attacks, Red Robin and Black Bat call her back into service.
Steph/Cass/realTim, all in one place! Nice!
Also, the writer, Alisa Kwitney, is an odd-but-interesting choice. As far as I can tell, she hasn't done superheroes before, but has done novels and graphic novels, and specializes in 'comedic romance novels' as well as doing Vertigo books.
It'd be fun if she did a comedic romance thing with the trio ^^

So is this "5 years in the future" thing canon? Or do we treat it as an elseworlds event?
A possible future, really, canon until things go otherwise. They wouldn't handcuff their writers by truly setting it in stone.
Here is the cover art for Futures End #40. Looks like Donna Troy.

lian 😛 but yeah, they could do with bringing back some more preboot people.
that's what I was thinking too; so far ive only read the gl one, and it wasn't bad.
Jim Lee joins Morrison on Multiversity.
So over the last few days I've been catching up with the comics I've fallen behind on, and even read Forever Evil as a more complete series. My 2c:
Green Lantern: Verdetti is, in general, a pretty solid replacement for Johns. I didn't like Relic at first, but he brought me around, and he seems to get most of the characters right. His characterisation of Carol Ferris, even outside of the Kyle thing, is something I don't like, nor do I like how he writes Hal when he's around Carol. Bar that though, I'll keep reading. Also nice to see Tan having come far from his days on X-Men. His anatomy is much better.
Though Nekron? Really?
Aquaman: It's... Okay. I don't dislike Parker; he isn't Bendis/Kyle/Yost on Cyclops bad, but there's nothing exceptional about his writing either. The stories are just "okay" with nothing that makes them stand out like they did with GJ was at the helm. The art is the same. It's okay. I think Aquaman is suffering more than GL has since Johns left, and I also think Johns left too soon. I'll still read, but I'm hoping for an upturn soon.
Aquaman and the Others: Not a great book, not a shit book. Nice to see Aquaman in a second comic other than JLA. Only thing I don't like is his interactions with Y'Wara (if that's how you spell it).
Justice League: Given the fact that most of what I read took place in Forever Evil, I can't rate it like I would if it was outside an event. When Reis is on art, the book shines more brightly (Mahnke is a solid artist, and I like him, just not as much as Reis), and it allows me, to an extent, to forgive Johns' eccentricities. This whole Lex Luthor thing is interesting though, so i'm looking forward to seeing where it goes.
Forever Evil + tie ins: Not a bad event at all. Worked on several levels, even if, more than once, Johns fell in to the trap of using massive PIS to move the story along. A few instances of people acting strangely or just plain out of character when the story required it. The good parts are the little character moments, and the dialogue that follows. I actually laughed out loud when I saw what happened with Cold and Quick.
My only really strong gripe is that I wonder if this whole "the villains are the heroes" thing is really a good thing, or if it somewhat invalidates the JL as a whole.
Superman Unchained: Thoroughly average book. Reading Batman, my appreciation for Snyder had grown, but I got the sense he just doesn't "get" Superman. Wraith was an interesting villain, and the scenes with General Lane were enjoyable due to the opposing viewpoints, but in the end it just didn't fit cohesively as a whole, imo. Really don't get the hype about the book, but that's just me.
And really? MORE LOIS STUFF? FOR ****'S SAKE.

Personally I don't care too much one way or another about bringing in new versions of the characters in the new universe- when that happens, they need to sell me on it just as much as a new character.
I just think it's be a really sweet 'epilogue' to the old story to have that revival.

I just want some of that old "magic" back, be it in new versions of the same character, or the old characters somehow appearing.
The N52 has really stagnated imo, and i'm really wishing they'd so something to give it a bit of spark, to show some of the greatness we saw when it first launched.

I plan to, as it's on the list i'm currently working through.
Last arc I read was Superman: Doomed...
Really don't get what the point of the whole thing was. It felt like two different ideas just shoved together, and it didn't mesh very well to me. Tying it in with Superman/Wonder Woman was a bad idea imo, as I really don't feel like Soule knows how to write Superman at all (at least when he's being Superman; the Clark stuff was passable at best). The best part of the whole thing was the art, imo. Some really good guys working on those books. Siqueira, Lashley and Daniel were great. Cifuentes too. Benes is my absolute favourite penciller in comics today, and though he was inconsistent at times, he still did enough good to make me happy.
Weird, silly arc in general, imo.

i couldn't get through forever evil. thought it sucked big time. i think aquaman has been OK as well. chimera is an average villain. i liked the early direction quite a lot, with some of the hidden history of atlantis, but lately not so great.
i really enjoyed unchained though, but i may be biased because i really like snyder's stuff.... i thought wraith was kind of cool, though his ending was abrupt and kinda liked the human vs superman angle. guess it felt like what might REALLY happen. reminded me a little of the early hulk stuff.
Not to just disagree for disagree sake, but I think DC has never been stronger since it's relaunch. Pretty much all the Batman books have been good (Grayson has been solid gold, IMO), the GL books are fun and producing one of the best cosmic events in a long time, DC's digital has been fairly strong, and Vertigo seems to be making a come back. Even Didio has been saying it will be a strong focus in 2015.

Doomed was complete and utter shit, tbh. A huge waste of my time.
I wouldn't go that far, but it was pretty bad yeah. Well below the kind of standard a Superman arc should be.

Wraith was the one really good thing about Unchained, imo (well, bar the art). He could have been the OWAW Mongul for Superman, but they put paid to that quite quickly. I did like the human vs Superman stuff too, but in general, this book was yet another example of DC going "let's tell everyone how amazing and important Superman is without actually showing it".
And they've been doing a lot of that lately.

I'm looking just at the characters I would read on a monthly basis. Superman is poor. Aquaman is tolerable. GL is decent. Justice League is okay.
Compared to how they were at the start, they're lacking, imo.
