Why should I calm down? Every non- A list hero book that DC puts out barely lasts a year, it's been this way ever since the relaunch. It started out awesome with titles like Captain Atom, Firestorm, Animal Man, OMAC, Frankenstein ect, which were slowly replaced by Bat books and super books, now we're losing Klarion, Swamp Thing, and The Forever People. I don't know what world you live on, but from where I'm sitting that shit is not "actually a good thing".
it's not a matter of good or not, it's a reflection of what people want and what they are buying. dc's not the bad guy here. if you, personally, were spending enough money to put out 5 monthly titles, and each cost you a lot of money, but people were only buying 4 of them and the other was actually losing you money, would YOU continue putting it out even if it were your fave? you might say yes, but then you realize if you offered a fifth title that had one of the other characters from one of your other books in it you would go from losing money to making a LOT more money, odds are you'd drop your fave in favor of the cash. or you could choose to stand on principle i guess and just keep losing money. but that's an emotional decision, no more 'good or bad' than the logical decision of cutting your fave book. then too, what about all the others who really like the bat books and honestly WANT more? are they and their opinions 'less good' because they really love batman or superman?
it's not a right or wrong issue. that's where smaller companies come in.
