I think Aquaman has been solid and Green Lantern line has been stronger post Geoff Johns. It actually feels like a GL book, IMO.

Solidly okay, maybe. Considering what came before, I don't think that's enough.

I honestly don't agree with Lantern being stronger. Good, yes, but Johns always brought something to the table that I'm not sure Verdetti can, even taking in to account Johns' flaws.

Yeah, I enjoyed Geoff John's run better (Aquaman), but Parker's is good too.

GL on the other hand is the opposite. First Lantern and his other events weren't very good. Godhead for example is a lot better than anything John's has done, sans Sinestro Corps.

Can't say I agree on either point, tbh. I've criticised Johns in the past, but I'd trust him to write a better story than either Parker or Verdetti. And Godhead has had less than a dozen issues; I think it's extremely premature (and a tad silly) to say that it's better than anything Johns has done, even leaving out Sinestro Corps.

Just imo.

It's already on act 2. Only one more to go, but the story is a superb self contained event for the GL universe. Just these handful of issues alone are better than Wraith of the First Lantern or Third Army, which were the last events John's did. Hell, even Uprising was better than 3rd Army. Those events were extremely rushed, IMO and not very engaging.

BTW, I love John's JLA (which has Luthor in it now) and his Aquaman, but his GL was lacking. Blackest Night and Sinestro Corps were his 2 strongest events, IMO.

There's other arcs, though. Rebirth? The Red Lanterns?

His later GL stuff might have not been up to his best standards, sure, but I think it's a stretch to say it's better than his best stuff.

I didn't say it was better than his best stuff, but it IS better than his later stuff. And on par with his average, IMO.

Wraith was the one really good thing about Unchained, imo (well, bar the art). He could have been the OWAW Mongul for Superman, but they put paid to that quite quickly. I did like the human vs Superman stuff too, but in general, this book was yet another example of DC going "let's tell everyone how amazing and important Superman is without actually showing it".

And they've been doing a lot of that lately.

could be our perspectives are a little different as well. unchained is currently the ONLY superman book i'm reading, so i don't get the inundation effect that you seem to be citing. i agree completely with wraith--could have been very cool....

have you been reading any flash? it's been pretty good imo, but not great. i like the current direction better than the initial one, which is kind of opposite of most of the dc stuff. you must be following multiversity i assume? that's been pretty good so far imo but i think i'll reserve judgment until it's done. and i'm really enjoying injustice. imo it's the best dc series (at least of the 10 or so i'm following) currently going.

I have to apologize for the randomness of this question. But what do people here think of Ulysees? It may just be Romita's art but he really reminds me of the Sentry in a way.

His character looks very interesting, and I think in Superman #33 the final page was really touching.

Seems like issue #40 will be the last one for Swamp Thing

13 other titles DC will be culling including Swamp Thing

Yup to bad! Green Lantern is going to lose 3 out of 5. People are saying DC is going to relaunch one or two of them. That's all rumors till its actually announced. Batwoman is gone too it looks like. And another Phantom Stranger comic goes away. tisk.

Swamp Thing, G.I. Zombie, Infinity Man, Trinity of Sin, Klarion, and Injustice are all cancelled?

Well f*ck. srsly

That's not good, with Injustice I heard that Tom Taylor was leaving and that Brian Buccellato was taking over.

Never knew it was cancelled. Shame. Enjoyed that of a Tuesday evening.

Man, all those issues I mentioned have been pretty great. I swear, just when I get into a DC series, they cancel it. 👇

HAHAHAHAHHAAH, DC IS SO ****ING RETARDED.

NEXT UP, ANIMAL MAN! WE GOING NO SALES!

Titles that don't sell, usually get cancelled. Nothing DC can do. Plus, titles like GLC and Red Lanterns will get relaunched. Same with Swamp Thing in the near future.

There is going to be a mini relaunch in June. Where creators will have a lot more freedom. All thanks to Doyle and his successful Batman line.

Just read Sandman Overture #4 and it was great! GL NG was alright.

Figures. Next year we're going to have 52 Bat books. With Klarion, Swamp Thing, and Trinity being canned what's left of the Dark line? Just Constantine and JLD? That sucks, have some balls DC.

We are not getting 52 batbooks. We're getting a mini relaunch next year in the style of Mark Doyle's think big. That's actually a good thing. Calm down.

52 Batbooks will make me very happy 😆 😆 😄

So happy Mark Doyle is sticking around. His influence on the Batbooks has influenced other lines, so I can't wait to see what DC has up it's sleeve for it's mini relaunch.
