DCU gets remade - all books are #1s, Geoff Johns and Jim Lee on Justice League, more

I cannot see that sonic disruptor coming into play at any stage in the fight.

Action Comics interior page

Interior for JLA looks pretty awesome.

Oh, shit! Is that a Mother Box?

I just read Justice League #1.

Spoiler:
I liked it. As in really, really liked it.

So, is Geoff Johns back?! Is it JSA level?

i have to say it's VERY encouraging, and is (and i mean this literally), the best issue of JLA i've read in years. johns got the characters down without making people look bad, and even his banter was excellent.

I'm not even a huge Wally fan or anything (I grew up reading Barry) but this whole campaign to basically remove him completely so that Barry can shine is ridiculous. I see no reason why Wally existing or - gasp! - being in a book takes anything away from Barry.

As far as the JSA goes....meh. I liked the JSA for adding history to the DCU; putting them in their own little world basically removes one of the primary draws for me from the team.

its kind of sad too, given how great wally was under johns' pen.

How did you pick up the issue? I ordered it online and have yet to get it. 🙁

I've read a bunch of reviews recently, and it's cool that it's mostly positive. NEW GODS FTW.

if i told you that i'd have to shoot you. 😛

pm me if you want to know more lol

😛 I'll just wait for the book. Hopefully it comes to my home on time. It's the first time I ordered books online.

hopefully. i was tempted to buy several of the #1's of the new 52, but i had to go and emmigrate at the wrong time.

maybe i'll get lucky.

Well, good luck to ya. I for one, miss having a comic in my hands. I haven't bought one for a while.

The first issue of JL was actually pretty good. The dialogue felt like it needed a bit of work but it got continuously better throughout the issue imo.

JL#1 was pretty good. Johns set the pace well for an introductory arc to the team

Spoiler:
focusing primarily on Hal and Batman, which makes sense as they're likely DC's two top/strongest properties at the moment
as well as introducing us to
Spoiler:
Cyborg prior to the accident which transforms him into a, well, cyborg.

Best of all, Johns managed to keep his cool without going overboard with wankery. If he can channel with this title what he did with JSA, I'll be pleased for the foreseeable future.

Definitely not as layered as JSA. And it's not as expository. Which I guess is a good thing since the characters are being developed through their interactions with each other. Great art.

Can't wait to see if Geoff Johns can actually pull off justifying Wonder Woman's status as one of the classic DC Trinity.

Spoiler:
Doesn't look like he'll be establishing that with hero-on-hero fisticuffs since he's already had half the team fight each other. And I've said it before... Hal Jordan ain't no Guy Gardner.

thanks odg. did we get to see darkseid? are they building him up?

Spoiler:
He's mentioned by name via that alien soldier - a parademon possibly? -
but he's not shown.

thanks. did anyone read any other books from the relaunch? i hear i vampire is awesome by a few creators.
