STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- City in the Clouds

It is fortunate, then, that you have had a week to spend touring Cloud City while you rested. You dodge and weave through the halls, trying to leave a confusing trail to follow (if any trail at all). You barge past people and try taking side corridors in an effort to lose your pursuers.

Eventually, you break out onto a veranda. The medical wing, which you were being led away from, was in the heart of the city. From the veranda, you can see it all quite well!

You appear to have lost your pursuers... wait, no. Only one has managed to follow you through the halls. Ciira Treen, charging up from behind, having ditched her pale grey cloak at some point during the run.

She has her lightsaber in hand, but not lit.

"Rianna!" she calls out as she comes onto the veranda with you. "Please, just come back with us!"

"No!" Rianna replies, looking for a way out and away from Ciira. "I can't! Myraline won't listen!"

Is jumping off the veranda a possibility?

"You need help!" Ciira insists. "I don't know why you ran from the Temple. You need some time rehabilitating and adjusting to the Order! I can sense great Fear in you, but you haven't fallen yet!"

This building slopes outward, and there are a series of verandas below you. You could drop down easily.

"I left because the Temple's idea of rehabilitation was driving me insane! I don't need help, and I certainly don't need it from you!" Rianna snaps back, flipping over the side of the veranda onto the one below her, making her way downward.

You make your flip and start to descend to the next veranda... when you stop in mid-air. You start levitating back up to the first veranda, where Ciira has her hands outstretched and tightly clenched.

"I can't let you escape," Ciira says.

She has you locked in a Grip to immobilize you, pinning your limbs rather than your throat.

"No...let me go!" Rianna shouts, trying to struggle out of the Grip.

It will be a Combat check to break out, since you did not have your lightsaber activated when she initiated it. Going for it?

She is pulling you closer.

Yeah, I'll go for it, Rianna's got a high Combat score.

You match her three successes and manage to break the lock, dropping heavily onto the veranda in front of Ciira. The little brat who replaced you in Myraline's eyes, so pure and optimistic, just attacked you with the Force!

Rianna lashes out at Ciira with a Combat Push, hoping to throw her off guard enough that she can make her escape without being caught with the Force again.

Your last Force point. Still going for it?

Rianna's pretty desperate right now...so yes.

You could not have chosen a worse person to try using that on. Being an Acolyte, she has a natural Force Defense of 3, and Tranquility boosts it to 4.

That drops you down to three dice, and she uses Channel to deflect your attempt to knock her back away harmlessly.

If there's another way off the veranda that Rianna has a hope of taking, she's running for it, frustrated at her failed attempt at using the Force.

Ciira simply interposes herself between you and the drop off. She ignites her lightsaber.

"You can't leave," Ciira says.

"Ciira, get out of my way," Rianna replies, igniting her own lightsaber. "I do not want to fight you...you should know you would not win if you tried."

She'll hold her lightsaber in a defensive stance, angling it between her and Ciira as she moves to simply flip over the younger girl and over the edge.

"I can hold you off until the others arrive," Ciira says. "You could not take us all on."

It will be an Agility roll, as ever, to get over Ciira and to the next veranda safely.

"I know the lightsaber is not your specialty, and it is mine," Rianna replies. "You couldn't. And I don't want to take on any of you! I simply want to be left alone!"

Yup, I know!

Then we have a scene as Rianna flips up and over Ciira, while Ciira dives backwards off of the veranda herself. Just to be annoying, Rianna only rolls a single success and comes down hard in a roll, while Ciira neatly perches herself in your way on the next veranda with five successes.

"You don't have that option," Ciira says, firmly.

"Don't force me to do this..." Rianna says, getting back to her feet.
