Oddly enough, you get the same exact set of moves. Oops...

It was meant to be a feint on Ciira's part. Not a very good one, though; you saw where she was going with it and simply made your sweep wide enough to include both angles.

You are able to step back into her again when she realizes her blow was not all that impacting.

Ciira: 2

Rianna: 4

Rianna to attack.

Rianna moves close and then ducks and rolls around Ciira to her other side, slashing out at her legs as she does so. Strong Agility.

As with the last time you tried to take out her legs, Ciira drops low to try blocking the incoming strike and deflect your blade into the ground. But this time, your attack comes on more strongly... and your lightsaber swiftly cuts through a significant portion of Ciira's upper torso.

She falls back onto the veranda, dropping her lightsaber and clutching at the deepest wound you could possibly inflict without cutting her in half.

Rianna pauses in horror for a moment when she realizes what she just did - the chances of Ciira surviving that injury are pretty slim. And now she has no chance at all of convincing Myraline to believe her...

"No...I didn't mean to...you shouldn't have followed me!" Rianna says, backing away before flipping down off the veranda and making her escape.

"Rianna..." Ciira gasps out, reaching out to you, just before you drop down the veranda and onto the next one. You frantically run as far from Ciira as you can, dropping from the final veranda onto one of Cloud City's greater outdoor access ways. A crowd had gathered on the street to watch the spectacle of your duel. It now flees as you drop into their midst.

What have you done, Rianna? is all you can think of as you flee.

Over the public announcement system that Cloud City possesses comes the voice of Captain Zaltus.

"This is Captain Zaltus Quar of the Wing Guard. All citizens, please return to your homes or to the nearest safe place. The Wing Guard is in the process of capturing a dangerous criminal. All flights into and out of Cloud City Starport have been restricted until further notice."

Your streetway becomes a low bridge that brings you by the starport, where you are alarmed to see a high number of Wing Guardsmen with blaster carbines organizing the crowds.

Someone spots you on the walkway and they start opening fire. At this range, they can't hit you, but one thing is clear- the starport is a no-go, and you cannot stay out in the open for much longer.

"No!" Rianna shouts as she hears that the starport is now cut off to her and she's more or less trapped there.

She'll quickly backtrack if possible; finding a side corridor to dash down and get her out of the open and out of sight, since going ahead isn't an option, and jumping down would just put her closer to the Guards.

The main starport is closed off to you, and the upper levels are probably the most dangerous place to be right now as it is swarming with the Wing Guard. Ducking into a building will be a short term solution, but eventually the Wing Guard will find you there.

You also notice that they are starting to deploy cloud cars to maintain the starport traffic and, more upsetting, search for you.

Great.

Rianna's not going to stay where she is for long, but instead keep moving, and intends to make for the lower levels. If she can make use of the ducts like she did before she'll do that.

The maintenance shafts where you fought the Rocketeer are certainly an option!

Let's do it, then! Rianna wants to get out of the open and it will be much easier for her to lose her pursuers down in the lower levels.

Okay! That requires Rianna making her way down to the base of the buildings on the upper levels before she can start her way into the maintenance shafts. But make her way she does, avoiding Wing Guard patrols and civilians.

That's odd... you pass a security panel when you enter the shaft, and it appears to be shut off.

Huh...that's odd indeed. She would think that every security measure they could come up with would be in place right now...

She doesn't quite like that, as to her it seems like someone anticipated her coming through here...but it's still her best chance at surviving right now so she's going to run through those shafts as quickly as possible, relying on her senses to lead her away from danger.

You do recall that they weren't able to find the Rocketeer on the sensor grid... and who has full access to the sensor grid?

You are fleeing for your life down into the lower levels. The maintenance shafts get you down there just fine, without any hitches. When you arrive, you notice that there is chaos down here. People are running about, trying to prep their ships and get out of there, assuming that the crackdown by the Wing Guard means the worst. Some are arguing with the Wing Guard for departure, others are trying to break out, with skirmishes erupting here and there.

That bastard. And I'll bet he knew full well what the recording Rianna was trying to get had on it...

Ideally Rianna would like to try and sneak onto a ship, if it's possible to slip through the chaos unnoticed. She wants to get off Bespin ASAP, and doesn't even care where she winds up right now, so long as it's just away.

You think you might be able to sneak into one of the hangars. You recall that that is how the Rocketeer escaped from you before... except now, they seem to have sealed off those hatches!

Well, Rianna does have an amazingly effective lockpick, known as a lightsaber...but that would also be a dead giveaway as to where she is.

Are all of the hangars sealed off? And what about just hiding herself in the crush of people attempting to get to their ships and get out of there?

It would be Intrusion+Strength to muscle your way through successfully.

It's always Strength!

Still, Rianna's Intrusion is high enough that she'll try it...

(was thinking less pushing my way through, though, and more just hiding within the crowd...)

Everone, catch the vile murderer!

Hiding within the crowd would still require you to shove your way through it or you would get nowhere. It is quite packed as people are trying to leave.

As it is, Rianna enters the wide corridor and starts trying to make her way through when a new contingent of the Wing Guard enter at one end, led by a livid Myraline Kiros.
