STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- City in the Clouds

"How things turned out! How you're acting now!" Rianna says, trying to wave away some of the steam so she can at least see something. "This isn't like you! You're so worried about me falling to the Dark Side - what about yourself?"

Can Rianna's Iron Will help her break being Bewildered?

Bewilderment lasts for as many successes as the attacker rolled. Unfortunately, Rianna is lacking in powers for countering Force Attacks.

"You have taken from me the things that mattered," Myraline hisses. "My career as a Knight and a tutor has been scarred by the fact that I trained Rianna Xi. And now you have killed my Padawan!"

There is a snap-hiss! as Myraline's orange lightsaber slashes at out suddenly, emerging from the dark and steam.

"I did not mean to kill Ciira! I didn't mean to harm her at all!" Rianna replies, growing increasingly frightened at Myraline's attitude. When she sees the orange saber ignite, Rianna immediately ignites her own and brings it up in a defensive position, blocking Myraline's attack.

"I never even got a chance for a career as a Knight, no thanks in part to your worrying and meddling..." she snaps back. "And you're now doing the same things you've lectured me about as long as I've known you."

Your lightsabers click together twice in the darkness before Myraline retreats and deactivates her blade, slipping out of sight again.

"You wouldn't never have even made it into Knighthood if it were not for me!" Myraline yells. "And this is how you repay me!"

As Myraline deactivates her lightsaber, Rianna will do the same, seeing if she's steady enough (and has control enough of her senses) to try moving without being overcome by dizziness, so she can get out of and away from there.

"Your determination to make me into another you was nothing but a hindrance to me!" Rianna replies angrily. "Why did you even choose me?"

"I saw great potential in you, and a challenging pupil," Myraline says. "But you undermined my teachings at every turn!"

Still dizzied by the nauseating sensation that Myraline inflicted upon you. Leaning against the wall is helping some, but it is not wearing off fast enough for your liking.

"You never wanted to let me be my own person! Maybe someone so 'challenging' wasn't a good idea for your first Padawan," Rianna replies, both irritated and hurt. She tries to start moving away from Myraline again, using the wall as support to keep her balance. "After all, you pushed me to undergo my Trials before I had wanted to..."

Her lightsaber appears out of the darkness again and whisks across the wall in front of you, causing you to step back in surprise.

"I offered encouragement to an overeager Padawan!" Myraline yells. "The Council did not think you were ready, and I overestimated my student."

As Rianna steps back, she ignites her own lightsaber again, holding it up to block any further attempted attacks.

"...what do you mean, the Council did not think I was ready and that you had overestimated me?" Rianna replies quietly.

"The Council has always been concerned about your tendency for violence," Myraline says, her blade shutting down and disappearing with her once more. "I urged them to let you take the Trials, and it was by my urging that they passed you and made you a Knight!"

Rianna is too shocked and upset by what Myraline just said to shut down her own lightsaber.

"No...you're lying, you have to be!"

"The Council thought you performed exceptionally well when it came to the martial aspects of our Order," Myraline hisses. "But your understanding of the Force, your all-around skills, your emotional state... you are very limited in these capacities, and the Council saw this. I encouraged them to pass you on the hopes that being out in the Galaxy and on your own would bring changes.

"The changes that came were not the ones I had hoped for!"

Myraline attacks you again, her lightsaber slamming into yours as she tries to knock it out of position. She throws her weight into it, pushing your blade down. Her face is contorted with anger, illuminated by the contrasting orange and purple light of your weapons.

"Perhaps if you had been more willing to let me take my studies at my own pace instead of trying to mold me into something I was not..." Rianna snaps back, growing increasingly angry herself now. Not to mention feeling betrayed, miserable, frightened...

When Myraline puts her strength into trying to push down Rianna's saber, Rianna will spin to the side out of the way, hoping to unbalance Myraline in doing so.

"You lecture me about having no emotional control as you give in to your own anger..." Rianna says. "Are you planning on going to the Dark Side just to try and take me in?"

"I'm not taking you in," Myraline says. "Not now."

You spin has the desired effect and Myraline accidentally cuts through another pipe as she stumbles into a wall, pouring more steam into the shaft.

"I'm going to take you apart instead," she snarls.

"You can try..." Rianna says, aiming a kick at Myraline's side to push her back and give her more space while backing away herself some. "And what will you do if you succeed? Go on the run from the Jedi yourself? Go back to be locked up? What is that going to solve?"

She takes a few more steps back, holding her lightsaber up to block any attacks that may come.

"I'm not a murderer...but if you attack me I will fight back. And I'm not an inexperienced Padawan any longer..."

"You resisted arrest and killed my Padawan," Myraline says. "You were dangerous and needed to be put down. And once you are gone, I can continue my career..."

In answer to your last spiel, Myraline slams her lightsaber into yours once again.

"We'll see about that," Myraline taunts.

I advise you to, yet again, pick your six.

Stay with my default split of three Agility, two Dexterity, and one Strength, and hopefully I'll get a decent draw this time.

"I didn't mean to kill her! You shouldn't have sent her after me!" Rianna hisses, again spinning out of Myraline's way. "And even if you succeed, it won't be that simple...you wouldn't be able to hide it from the Council."

Somewhat better this time!

Agility Weak
Agility Strong
Agility Strong
Dexterity Weak
Dexterity Normal
Strength Normal

This time, it is Myraline who is the attacker, driven by vengeance for her Padawan and anger over a seemingly ruined career to attack her former student.

She starts off by trying to twist your lightsaber into a wall.

Rianna reacts by twirling her own lightsaber to break Myraline's hold, spinning back away from her former Master. Strong Agility.

Rianna is nimble enough (this turn) that her disengage is successful, avoiding any pipes or wires that could cause her to trip. Myraline had been counting on you to try struggling out of the hold instead of slipping away, and she pitches forward. Her lightsaber cuts through a bundle of wires, which begin sparking brightly in the steamed-up shaft. She is determined not to let you out of her sight and chases after you, giving you the advantage as she comes on.
