STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Gunrunner

It goes on for quite aways, Rand. It is big enough to accomodate a Huhk, so you are able to walk with a slight crouch as you move through the tunnel.

Rand presses on. He has no reason not to. Even if there is going to be unpleasantness at the end of the tunnel, Rand is not usually one to shy away from it. Not to say he relishes violence, but he certainly doesn't think that anyone is really strong enough to stop him or get in the way of anything he is tasked with (or doing of his own initiative).

You trudge through the tunnel then.

Eventually, you sense that you are near the end. You think you see some glimmer of light but not much.

You detect lifeforms ahead and can faintly hear talking.

Rand will slow his pace and try to reach the end of the tunnel quietly. He doesn't want to alarm anyone or let them know he's here.

You come to the end. The space beyond appears to be a natural cavern. You cannot see much from where you are without exposing yourself, but you can hear voices. The first is angry and distinctly Huhk. The second sounds filtered but human.

"We need more!"

"I can't keep supplying you if you aren't going to use them."

"We are going to. But we need more."

"You have enough firepower to melt the planet already. What more could you need?"

"We are getting more to our cause. The Huhks must be free. But we need more than you gave."

"I told you that my employer wanted these tested before anything more was channeled into your cause."

Someone throws something. The filtered voice laughs.

"Acts of strength aren't going to impress me."

Rand stays put. He doesn't want anyone to know that he is here and listening in on their conversation.

You hear something heavy lifted. The filtered voice laughs again.

"Threatening me isn't going to work either."

"We need MORE!"

"Do something worthwhile with what you have and then we can renegotiate how many weapons are donated to your cause."

The Huhk growls deeply.

"Don't the Lahsbees have your people corralled into a small compound?"

The Huhk grunts.

"Kill those entrapping you. Then we can talk."

Rand will patiently wait to see what happens next. He keeps his senses open and has his hand on his lightsaber, in case he is discovered.

The Huhk growls more.

"Fine. We attack tonight."

"Perfect. Then go and initiate your strike."

"Not now."

You hear the whine of a blaster charging up.

"Go now or I will replace you with someone that WILL do what I require."

More Huhk growling.

"Fine. We go now."

The Huhks start to move toward you.

Is there time enough for Rand to disappear into the tunnel and beat them out of here?

They will see you but you would have a head start.

And they are probably not going to be happy to see Rand. Can Rand sense how many there are? How long would it take him to get back?

Your masterful senses detect about a dozen lifeforms coming toward you. It would take as long as it took to get down here, which was a decent trek.

And they probably have blasters...

Rand can probably handle this situation. He will proudly step out and declare his presence as they come his direction.

"You are not going anywhere," Rand says, smirking.

Rand is greeted with the sight of a dozen hulking Huhks striding across the cavern toward him. Each is carrying some sort of heavy ranged weapons; it is hard to see specifics in the dim light of the cave.

Behind them is a glinting metallic figure. The figure turns to face you, and the Huhks start growling.

"Who are you?" asks the figure, his voice filtered.

"I should ask you the same," Rand says. "I am here to find out where, exactly, these fine beings received their weapons."

Rand smiles his awful smile.

The metallic figure snorts.

"Kill him," he orders, gesturing in your direction.

You sense that the Huhks intend to do as he says.

Rand maintains his smirk and pulls his lightsaber to his hand from his belt.

Focused Guard, Reflection, Cleave. Focus on the metallic fellow or whichever Huhk is most threatening.

Do they all have guns?

They do.

There is a moment of hesitation when you draw your lightsaber. You use the pause to assess your situation.

The metallic figure is hanging back while the Huhks do the fighting.

Rand will not give them the satisfaction of shooting first. He will immediately drive toward the Huhks, assailing a pair of their thugs with broad sweeps of his lightsaber and intercepting blasts from the rest.

Focus on the figure if he shoots, focus on the Boss if he doesn't. Tap Focused Guard and Reflection (and reflect mooks only).
