Odin VS Galactus

@zopzop. I apologize for the reach around comment. You came with arrogance for pages before and after that comment. But it was not necessary on my part to drop to another person's level to try to argue against them.

and now to this... galactus is one of those guys that fluctuates... on a given day... it takes just the ff4 to stop him... on another... the whole dang marvel earth...

but we are saying that odin.. with all asgardian might.. plus the hammer he crafted... and an armor that was helped made by two other skyfathers?.... is gonna be galactus's equal right?...

so the argument is a fully prepped odin... is the same as galactus? ...

but can't galactus absorb all of taa II? if galactus hasn't done that.. how do we compare him prepped to odin...

Galactus didn't gain prominence until the 1980s. He wasn't more powerful than Odin in the 1960s, nor was he intended to be.

Edit: Responding to a message from the first page, hah.

Odin affected a bit more? Did you miss the part where Galactus rises, heals himself instantly, and looks perfectly fine as if nothing even happened, and goes about his business. All this while Odin is on the ground broken and bleeding, and barely able to speak.
It's arguable Galactus is perfectly fine, but I interpret his statement literally, "Asgardians... You... tire... me." That attack fairly taxed him. Which would lend some credence to Surfer's warnings in continuing.

galactus eats planets for food and wanted to eat earth back then, that's 1/9 of what makes up asgard.

odin is still equals with galactus in telepathy,

Based on what?

^ Explaining my opinion would require revisiting how loaded a term, "stalemate," has become here on KMC. So I'll pass.

I'll just say, I don't recall anybody contending better with Galactus' telepathy than Odin... and it still got Odin absolutely nowhere. Indeed, it's apparent to me that Odin regretted taking that approach.

that is exactly what i said in a different thread. if it turns out he IS perfectly fine, then i'll look at the fight in a different light. but we need to wait.

The main point was that Odin looked like he was in much worse shape relative to Galactus . In my mind that demonstrates Galactus' clear superiority. The fact that Odin needs the Destroyer in round 2 to compete just cements it.

The "you...tire...me" statement I didn't interpret as literal. I took it more as Galactus feeling irritated at how troublesome the Asgardians have been. Surfer's statements to me, is just Surfer being a pacifist like usual.

Another reason I don't take it literal is because Galactus hasn't done anything to exert himself in the fight at all, at least IMO. All he's done so far is defend himself against TP and get hit by a head-butt. The head-butt damage was healed so easily too, making me think it wasn't such a big deal to Galactus. But we'll find out next issue whether he's actually drained.

It was my fault, I over-reacted.

But back on topic, if the fight ended in issue 5 the way it was, then yes we can say that Galactus is clearly superior to Odin. But it seems like something is going on with issue 6.

I'll say this though, if Galactus wins against

Spoiler:
Odin in the DA
, I'll be damn impressed. He's been moving up in terms of power steadily since the 90s : He and the other cosmics fought Thanos with the IG while the Skyfathers were stuck in Asgard, hell before Warlock took charge it looked like HE was the leader of the cosmics, he was the last man standing vs the Galactus Engine (the Celestials and Teneberous were nowhere to be found and Aegis "died" ), it took 2 Proemial (sp?) Gods to take on a hungry Galactus, a starving Galactus wiped a galaxy, etc..

If he pulls a win here, it would cement his power level as safely above a high skyfather.

^ That status doesn't need further cementing. If that status hasn't already been threatened by Galactus jobbing out to the likes of the FF, Thor and Rachel Grey, Odin isn't changing things.

I sincerely doubt we're going to discover that Galactus is perfectly fine through some affirmative statement in the next issue. But even if nothing is definitively stated either way next issue, I wouldn't conclude anything less than that Galactus was hurt a lot by Odin's attack.

In the past, Galactus has been hurt by a lot less than an all-out Odin frontal assault.

ODG, how far apart do you view Galactus and Odin apart typically?

they tire him like it tires a parent trying to remove a child from the toy department of a store. inevitably the kid loses but the parent has to put up with a lot of crap beforehand.

surfer might have to herald some more rage mmm

^ Surfer's busy gettng KTFO by Galactus. Thor fans should be crossing their fingers and hoping that Galactus doesn't remember that Thor hit him and give him a taste too.

Far apart enough that Galactus would wreck Odin if he really wanted to (as his power has proven before). And far apart enough that I'd be stupified if Odin no-sold Galactus' attacks (as Galactus was with Zeus before Mikaboshi revealed himself).

Not far apart enough that Galactus wouldn't know he was in a fight. He'd know it.

Though I will allow you the honor of being my counterpart, let's not offend quanchi more than we have to.

It's enough that he's the tails, in the coin analogy.

uhuh

Quanchi wouldn't want to lose the second battlezone he has participated in aswell, after the whoopin' Nvr gave him.

Nevr won in the judges eyes around 4 months for me in on the board. It's like using a legacy showing for Genis Vell. Come on, man.

So are you saying you'd do better in a battlezone this time around?

Without a doubt. That was four months in after a 10 year plus vacation from comics. I just recently wanted to do it at the time as I just got back in. I've read a lot of comics since that initial battlezone. It was still the most fun I've had on the board. I think most of us can agree the first year on here for us was the best(most memorable).
