Eh, there's no confirmation of a "Spaceballs 2".Last we ever heard was back in October of 2004, he made mention he was working on a script for the sequel. There's a few roadblocks.
1) He's got "The Producers", the movie and Broadway show.
2) He just signed on to do the "Get Smart" movie.
3) Bill Pullman's kind of a big actor now, John Candy's DEAD, Daphe Zuniga, who gives a shit..meaning, his actors from the original won't make a draw.
4) Brooks is almost 80 years old, hasn't written a comedy in almost 10 years, and I'm not sure he's exactly got his finger on the pulse of what's funny TODAY.
Doesn't look good..as bad as I'd like to see an effective sequel.
Is Bill Pullman really a big actor now? His biggest part other than Spaceballs I know of is Independence Day.
If Daphne Zuniga was replaced, I doubt anyone would care. She wasn't anything special.
John Candy, no one else could play Barf.
When I heard about this, I was thinking maybe Brooks would just get a whole 'nother cast and spoof the Star Wars prequel trilogy.
