Who does?

The Magnetic Fields, The Smiths, Sufjan Stevens, Joni Mitchell, The Tallest Man on Earth, Joanna Newsom, etc...

I dig The Smiths

They were what initially got me into discovering new music. I was introduced to them in 2003, when I lived in the US. And they have been my favourite band for many years, but I think the last couple years my favourites have been The Magnetic Fields.

What do you usually listen to?

Umm well if you haven't noticed at the moment I'm obsessed with Arctic Monkeys, their latest album is perfection, but the one before it is very nice too, lots of favourite songs from them.

Also the Kooks, Kodaline, Iron & Wine, they've been playing lately for me.

The Cribs.

Look em up, listen, love!

Ah yes and them too! Since I was introduced to them 🙂

No worries. 😉

I need more tastes though.

Oh I love Iron and Wine. I've been mainly listening to two of his songs lately. Rabbit Will Run, which is just amazing, and Such Great Heights, which has a really sad tune. Such Great Heights is a cover, and the original by The Postal Service has probably been my favourite/most listened to song in the last 3 or so months.

I love Such Great Heights, but I dig Ben's acoustic version of it best. It's actually probably my favourite song, well one of the top 5 anyway. I was a moody teenager in uni and would listen to it on repeat being all "dark" and "depressed." haermm

Actually Death Cab is one of my favourite bands.

I haven't really listened to Death Cab at all, just stumbled across that song, and love it. Is there an album of theirs you'd recommend?

Transatlanticism, A Lack of Colour and Passenger Seat are some of my favourite songs.

I'll check those out. Since I've been going to the Office I've been listening to more new music on Spotify. I have a list of "newmusicof2014" where I put albums I want to check out and then listen to them!

That ones quite good, but it's mellow, it's not quite like the I dunno kind of electro pop of Postal Service.

Add AM by the Arctic Monkeys to that list, great music droolio
And In a Perfect World by Kodaline, they did some stuff for FIOS.

Alright, I did. Will report back when I get to them!

Cool, let me know, my friends normally just listen to top 40 stuff on the radio, it's refreshing being able to share this stuff.

Ha, I solved that by not having friends.

The Arctic Monkeys were pretty popular though, at least in the UK I think.

Btw, do you have spotify? that has really been a great way for me to discover new music.

HA

Yeah, they're huge here, not so much back home, at least not that I've ever realised before? I think recently with AM they really pushed into the American market.

No I don't, I just used Youtube

Spotify is awesome.

Although it's 10 dollars a month or whatever, it's worth it.
