This was a good movie but they needed to explain certain things to make this movie better. Especially considering the Asgardians using both magic and tech at the same time. What's the point of using swords and spears if you have access to laser guns and ships? Some kind of explanation like the Elf's weapons are technological in nature while the Asgardians are mystical. Or that Asgard has advanced weaponry but it's warriors chose to wield classical weapons because their society feels guns a cowardly weapon. The Elfs came in and shot the Asgarians to pieces but then Asgard also hold gunners to shoot down those ships.
Malekeith was a bit of a bore but still better than Zod's overactions/overacting every time Zod spoke.

Somebody please rank Thor 2 against Iron Man 3, Spider-man 2012, X-Men First Class, The Wolverine, Man of Steel and the first Thor. Thanks in advance.
I will say they got different problems.
Didn't watch Spider-Man 2012, X-Men First Class is the best, other than that, I personally think MoS is No.2, good cast, has no obvious flaw while there are some minor problems, and it is the first one of the new Superman series.
Iron Man 3 and The Wolverine has pretty much the same problem, the plot is way too predictable, especially the Wolverine, you will be able to guess the whole plot after watching the trailer. Iron Man 3 is a bit better but still, the Mandarin Twist is a big disappointment and the villain's plan is a bit weird.
I already mentioned Thor 2's problem in the previous page, I will say as a blockbuster it has better effect and no Mandarin joke but the final battle is way too off, it's on the same level with Iron Man 3 and better than the first Thor.
So X-Men First Class>MoS>Iron Man 3=Thor2>The Wolverine=Thor.

Malekeith is even more overshadowed by Kurse than Faora overshadowed Zod.

Yeah but overall he is too weak to be the antagonist, we saw Kurse beat the shit out of Thor, and Malekeith got owned by Frigga first, then couldn't really get advantage over Thor after had the Aether, Thor also didn't have hammer with him for a while.

My order would go like this:
Thor
X-Men: First Class
Iron Man 3
Thor: The Dark World
Man Of Steel
The Wolverine
The Amazing Spider Man (2012 - good, but a bit underwhelming and not different enough from the Raimi films.)
Sorry, IM3 before MOS.

That's true. Would've liked it more if the fight was extended a bit longer with Thor pulling out more attacks and stronger lightning strikes.

Do you guys think it has quite a few SW elements? The Dark Elf ship crush into Asgard is quite similar to the ToR trailer "Betrayed", the Sith ship crush into the Jedi Temple.
Coruscant and Asgard.
Padme.
The final battle of the fool took down dark elves is similar to the Ewoks in EP VI.
Neither of us like the SW stuff, but both could see the clear influences of it, especially in the mix of space weaponry and swords and shields.
Also, lots and lots of LoTR influence too, the dark, ominous start, the sweep of the camera across the battlefield and the way the elves and Norse gods were depicted in battle, very LoTR.
Originally posted by SlowpokeIn Malekeith defence Frigga is pretty danm powerful in the comics so it is not much of a " bad showing" Also i thought it was pretty cool to see Thor use his weather powers without Mjolnir was pretty cool.

Well, the Antagonist should be very very strong, especially not being greatly dwarfed by his lieutenant. Kurse caught Frigga easily and curb-stomped Thor.
