Well McClane turned his back and his opponent kicked him through a window and down a story or two (not hurting him, of course)

So Queensberry rules we obviously off.
Everytime a flashey spinny roundhouse kick gets done the person is turning their back momentarily.
I guess you'd say the opponent has to wait 'til the kicker has completed the turn to counter lol

What he saved is irrelevant in a thread against another human fighter. You are ignoring the context/situations which made it possible. Zan beats him down. McClane wins another asskicking but since it isn't a Die Hard he dies.

Van Zan could never beat McClane:

Hes too slow. (Part of why he can't generate the kind of power McClane has)

His punches don't do damage even when cheapshotting a non fighter with his arms held down, as Van Zan hits him as hard as he can (IE not hard).

He cannot cope with McClane's power.

He cannot deal with shots coming in at the speed of McClane's KO hook.

He lacks McClanes damage soak.

He lacks McClane's Stamina always breathing heavy and grunting.

He has a weak, baitable mindset and is prone to rage quits.

Van Zan has NO chance.

Quanchi assumes all women have damage soak that can tank being hit with an SUV without breaking their strides and can fight like Cage fighters on PCP binges.
