X-Force V.S. The JSA

Started by Prep-Man10 pages

JSA has a formidable team as well. They have someone who can also give off illusions, someone who CAN'T be tagged physically or with weapons, someone who can't be harmed period and beat down a God, someone who dazed Superman with the Claw of Horus (Hawkman), etc...

Yes, we said it will probably be a good fight. X-Force can overcome the JSA's advantages a little easier though, so X-Force has the edge.

That's only if they can overcome CS, which I doubt they can.

...which leads us back to Psylocke.

Thing is, while individually the JSA and X team members are all relatively formidable, X-Force has the feats, writing and demonstrated mindset to back up the notion that they are deadlier and fight to their tactical advantage. In this case, with the basic information that Citizen Steel is a supreme tank, they'd have Psylocke take him out from the get go. Her psychic blade ignores armor and durability and just passes through to annihilate the minds it touches. I'd also argue probably for Psylocke against any of the JSA's team members in an individual match, so I don't see this tactic really getting delayed.

Without Citizen Steel being a deciding factor, the match weighs pretty heavily in favor of the mutants: despite the edges afforded by Hawkman, Stargirl and others, the muties remain equal combatants with equal (though different) edges and, still, deadlier and all around more competent fighters.

--------------------------------------

For what it's worth, I also don't see Wolverine piercing kryptonian skin, Citizen Steel or other similarly durable beings. Scratches at best. Adamantium possesses the necessary hardness, but Logan lacks the adequate force, until further notice shows otherwise.

My opinion, obvi. But yeah, that's where I stand.

If both teams know each others powers, the same could be said about JSA. Hawkman could TKO Betty with the Claw. And King Chimera could cast a bunch of illusions to throw off X-Force. Which is by bending light and sounds around him, so they'll be fooled.

What could be said about JSA? That they are deadlier or resort to higher tactical advantages than X-Force? I disagree.

OP says 'Standard Equipment', and last I checked, Claw of Horus wasn't in Hawkman's standard equipment. Unless you're either referring to something else or comics have seriously changed, then, well, false.

Yeah, King Chimera could do all kinds of shit. Fantomex can also do the exact same thing, and fight at a higher caliber while doing so. Which all adds in to my 'Both teams are good, X-Force is better' conclusion.

Like I said, I don't see Psylocke being prevented from taking out Citizen Steel, personally, and thus far in the thread, nobody has provided any reason to think otherwise.

Claw was standard last time Hawkman used it in Brightest Day. He used it enough. I agree they are better fighters, but JSA is no slouch and has a power advantage. Just my opinion.

Right, well, if Lord Feron intended for Hawkman to have the claw (which, frankly, I doubt) then this becomes a much more interesting discussion.

Short of that, X-Force wins. They have the necessary tactical advantages to neuter JSA's superior firepower, and they have the mindset and skill set to employ that advantage properly.

I don't think he even knows what the Claw is. 😛 Don't forget Stargirl. She can shield some of her members of the fire power and X-Force is short one member. So, they also have a numbers advantage.

Psylocke is the trump card. If she wasn't in this battle, or if the JSA at least had some kind of telepath, the JSA would win imo.

But as it stands: X-Force wins. CS (the JSA's biggest hitter, by far) has no feats in the way of TP resistance. He gets mind raped.

Psylocke can even the numbers pretty quickly, and eventually turn it in X-Force's favor.

I agree, mostly because in that case, Citizen Steel would be the trump card.

With the two of them gone, JSA may edge it out, I dunno.

Correct, I did not want Hawkman to have the claw. Didn't think the fight would require it. Sorry if people assume it is standard equip. In this fight he does not have it.
