You know, I still want to see it by all means, but I can see what you mean. I'm not that big a fan of these silly characters, so I have a feeling all this hype is gonna set me up for disappointment. But anyway, I might be waiting until Tuesday to see this with a buddy.

I was never a fanboy, and I thought it was amazing.

So take that for what you will.

Ok after after doing some thinking on this.

I figured out why I liked movie so much. Most of the time things that have this kind of build up end with being major disappointments. This is one of those cases where it didn't disappoint it exceeded my expectations. It wasn't a perfect movie but I'm definitely buying it.

Yeah, likely attributable to Joss Whedon's hand in it. I would have very little interest in this if he wasn't the writer and/or director.

Suck it, Hunger Games.

hey, John Carter made another million... 200 million more and it wont be a complete failure. 🙂

And no need to take them seriously which you seem to be doing, Hence the 'Silly Characters" part.

It's really a good movie, you should watch it !
it gonna be very succesful

"Avengers is now positioned to reach $1 billion in global grosses in a much-needed win for Disney, which posted a $200 million loss after John Carter cratered at the box office this year."

Woot, called it, b!tches. Billion.

yup, i had my doubts, but you called the shot. I didn't expect it to do as well as it did overseas.

Disney needs to show it's gratitude by purchasing the rights to f4. I'd love to see Tony, Banner and Reed onscreen together.

Reed would make them look like retards.

if anyone needs a dose of humility, it's Tony. Plus, i just wanna see the intellectual dick measuring; we only got a tiny bit of it in the Avnegers between Tony and Banner.

shut up about the me wanting to see dick measuring. sneer

Best movie ever

Tony seemed to respect Banner, no? Not so much the "look, I'm smart and you're retarded so get out of my way" appraoch that Tony takes with most people.

You dick measuring lover, you.

He'd have to first overcome the retardation of his character during the last two god-awful outings.

Anyway, Reed is more intelligent in specific areas, but overall not the sharpest operator. Tony's much more of a rounded intellect and Banner is peerless in his field and can be quite machieavellian (and out-prep Reed and Tony and Doom) when the need presents itself.

I was more thinking from a comics angle (unless that's changed in recent years).

But Reed was brilliant in the films, didn't he within a very short amount of time deduce that a "tachyon pulse" would separate the Surfer from his board and all he had to go on was a short film snippet?

You're right he performed well in that scene, but then Victor was basically using him as a tool, whilst trying to get his own schemes up and running (and he achieved his objective of getting SS' powers).

Sadly the films were criminally stupid, and Reed's "genius" was as a result not particularly impressive. It's akin to being the smartest Turtle in TMNT... still a turtle.

As for the comics, yep, Reed is (on the whole) peerless. But Banner and Green Scar (both operating as distinct personalities and the former while without access to Hulk) out-planned and out thought him when the stakes where at their highest. Cho also frequently embarrassed Reed.

Still, you have the Council of Reeds 😖

My feelings towards the character are ambivalent, I'm with Namor - Sue's the only good thing about him.

So...

Spoiler:
Was that an infinity gem on Loki's scepter?

Why would he be floating or levitating in the first place he's not that powerful.

Regardless of whether Thor wears his helmet in the comics, he still looked incomplete to me. You never see a movie where knights or warriors go into battle wearing full armour except for their helmets.

And as far as wanting to se Loki float/levitate....remember Magneto's floating grand entrance in the X-Men movies, that was pretty impressive.
