Johns is more familiar with Marvel and DC than the rest right?
Not really.
Perez is probably the most familiar with both companies due to him being in the industry for a long time. The only notable Marvel stuff Johns did was a brief run on Avengers, iirc, whereas Morrison did plenty of X-Men stuff.

Out of curiosity, where are you going with this, Carver?
Lol...I am going to try emailing them to see what their answers would be on a fight between the two. Sometimes they are nice to answer and sometimes writers ignore you. The thing about this is...if they give an answer and its against what you are saying, "would you accept it"?
Probably no but I would feel good knowing the answer.

Well, I'm pretty goddamn sure they are going to say Superman would win, but sure, go for it.
If they disagree and think Gladiator beats Superman...for whatever purpose that would serve...then I'll disagree with them. Doesn't make their statement any less true or false as writer statements =/= facts, but I'll accept that as their opinion on the matter. I disagree with writer statements if they don't make sense or are just self serving piles of crap; no reason to stop with those guys if they make the wrong decision (assuming they don't know about the character they're writing).
Good luck with that, though, bro.

writers opinion is no more valid then any of ours. Only times that is, is when it's clarification on something they themselves wrote. Not hypothetical situations.

The thing about this is...we will never get a Canon book involving the two so a writer imo would be the best judge on how the outcome would be...especially if we get a writer that is familiar with both characters.
Originally posted by carver9But writers can each have different views.

Say we're both writers, yet you think a character beats someone I don't. we've both written the chars before yet neither of has had them ever encounter each other. See what I mean?

Gotcha. What if two writers gave the vote for the same character...would that make a difference or does this fall under the same rule?

It's still not going to make a huge difference.
Also, just so you know: Grant Morrison has written both Superman and Gladiator. His Superman was far superior. Joe Casey wrote X-Men and Superman, and said his Superman was unstoppable.
How many writers do you really think are going to support Gladiator? Honestlly?
