It just touches exactly upon all the stuff that is being discussed right now. How Cyclops plan ended up being correct (or fortuitous). How Wolverine woulda screwed the pooch if he murdered Hope. How Iron Man ended up relying on a hail mary. How we should be treating Cyclops differently from Wanda (if at all). Whether Cyclopa truly regretted his actions (still being built upon).

Im not saying the current discourse is needless, but the story isnt exactly finiahed.

I could give 2 shits about the Phoenix at this point. Considering how diluted the Beyonder, the IG, the Spectre, and every other supposedly fundamental, ultimate expression of power there is in comics, AvX's treatment of the Phoenixforce is hardly surprising. If i cared enough, id be gloating every chance i get. That Mr Master isnt even bothering just shows how unextraordinary this is. So long as I dont get trolled by Phoeniz fanboys, im not in any hurry to shove this event in their face where Thor got completly marginalized.

I liked AvX because it actually lived up its name: AvX. Huge change of pace from a supposed crossover event like Bloodties where absolutely nothing happened. i was sure they wouldnt have Cap and Wolvy fight (despite the covers). But they did. Been noticing that their crossover covers are far more reflective of the content within especially since Fear Itself. I mean, how many times has Cap's shield been broken on a cover? I was a big fan of the isolationist "us against the world" theme X-Men's been running for the last few years, but it was wearing thin. It was about time Hope and Cyclops came to the forefront. Again, mileages vary.

Just read Consequences. I have to admit, I liked it. The dialogue between Logan and Cyclops, if sappy, actually felt like something that needed to be said.

I'm actually looking forward to the next issue now.

Hey, I'm just preparing him.

Bendis will no doubt do some cool and interesting things with the X-Franchise - he did some great work here and there concerning the Avengers after all - but as a whole, that's anybody's guess.

He doesn't have to be one or the other. He was neither through Morrison and Whedon's runs.

Keep in mind that Bendis made Clint change from a guy who would be shocked that his wife killed her rapist to the point he was breaking up with her and a guy who goes into a killing rampage against Osborn.

...So I'm half waiting for Cyclops to rape puppies sometime down the road.
