Demonstar had no power on his own. Neither does the staff had a particular durability when not being used. Surfer atomizing it or thinking "I can't beat him without killing him" doesn't invalidated that he got drained.

I'd like for the mods to spice it up a bit, and allow temp-bans based battlezones, where the loser would get banned for a week.

Your not taking full context of the whole Unilord arc. The Unilord arc ended when that streak of silver light came out of the rift into 616 Universe.

You're not comprehending the story at all. 616 Surfer gained nothing after that "merger" except Galactus' illusion. Not that even merging with unilord surfer somehow makes it canon for 616 Surfer.

Supergirl merged with her own dark self.

Donna Troy was merged with her own alternate timelines selves.

Hulk had merged with Heroes Reborn hulk in the form of Bruce Banner.

If I want I can find other examples like this as well. Does this mean Supergirl , Donna and Hulk are twice as strong?

Or Heroes Reborn is canon for 616 Hulk even though he never did any of those actions? Nope.

This strawman and desperation for a feat which is only possible as

1. Surfer was merged with blackbodies
2. Unilord was weakened
3. Surfer had released all of his power and blackbodies in the multiverse.

Just for comparison, Surfer nearly died repairing just the crust of the earth after it was broken by his ship.

And has failed to even come close to do that on another occasion.

And that was even when Molecule Man was holding the earth together.

Superman on the other hand? At full power he absorbed and channeled all the power on Earth after it was absorbed by a machine and restored the Earth completely.

Energy Superman absorbs the energy of whole planet from a machine which was going to destroy it and channels it back to the planet.
