Stupid? Sure. And yeah, Kubo is trying too hard. As Nodt should not have been sacrificed just to help establish something we already knew.

You say that like nodt was a worth while character

The best thing about him was rididng us of bishikuya

Hah, I was just reading Two Flowers for the Dragon/ Ryuu NoHanawazurai, a shojo series, which had this page of one of the heroes fighting a guy who can control and partially turn into sand, and it's awesome:

Nodt was cool. If he wasn't going to be at least mildly important, why have him kill Byakuya?

Remember this was the writer who decided to have all of the Espada be just a diversion unimportant to Aizen's plan.

Oh no, Kubo is just really not a good writer. Good at making characters but not really sure what to do with them. I'm just using this one as a flaw at the moment.

I'd say he's a good writer in some respects, just a really poor *plotter*.

If he had a co-writer, it'd be awesome. Too bad that's unlikely.

He is the weakest writer of the Big 3 writers. Oda of course being the best due to being a genius.

I'd personally contest that. Oda's very good, but he also doesn't take many breaks from convention. Kishimoto experiments more, which doesn't always work out, but his story has a more flowing less arc-based story structure and more elements I don't see coming.

Both very good, in any case.

Oda just strikes me as a guy who has such a grasp of his own story that he really can plan far ahead and, when the occasion comes where he implements something new, he can do it so well that it is kinda seamless.

But I do like Naruto more than OP, for a lot of the reasons you listed, so meh.

Yeah, this is exactly the type of discussion you wanted when making this thread. 😛

What is experimental about Naruto?

Stupid how?

Trying too hard to make him badass? A character like Yamamoto's badassery practically writes itself.

You're just a ladyman who can't appreciate manliness because you're a gender traitor.

I can take a stab at this question. For one Yamamoto didn't bother to take pre-caution about whether or not Bach could steal his bankai: though this could be more of a flaw for Kubo. He also was willing to leave FKT completely defenseless just to beat Aizen.

Yeah Yamamoto's a badass but he's also an irrational *******. Going back to FKT dude had no problem offing everyone there(expect Ichigo for some reason) with pillars that he was implied to have spent all the time he was there preparing but got pissed enough to do something when his BFF died. That's also weird since by Aizen's own admission he was still stronger than him and to extension everyone else present there.

He has a cool design but aside from that I can see why there wouldn't be much to like about him. Now Akainu is an awesome character.

1) Bleach -Well, Yama manages to *not* mess around this time!
2) Fairy Tail -This is a big week for enemy killing, isn't it?
3) Springtime of Youth 16 -Just really fun
4) Naruto -Still not a bad chapter!

Strong week

Anyway, Bleach didn't really sell the south and the north abilities well. The south was essentially just demotivational and the north was just too simple.

It may just have been me, but, Yamamoto seemed evil. In the beginning he was just taunting fake Yhwach, but at the end he was just being sadistic.

From those 4 manga, Springtime of Youth was probably the best chapter this week.

North seemed to be an altered version of East. While I agree that South was mostly just an attack intended to unsettle the opponent but it did get past the Sankt Zwinger.

1. Springtime of Youth
2. Naruto
3. Bleach

Damn Oda for not showing this week. Really think he would have won if he had since I was bored with Naruto and Bleach.

Naruto had the character development but the plot was at a standstill. Bleach said character development can piss off and we're just gonna waste "Bach."

Where is the real Bach?
