STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- Teachings of the Shaman

Azarl does a quick survey of the harbor to look for any source of danger, or if any of the Vran are about to stop his advance. He makes sure his weapons are secure, this whole venture making him wish he had studied their use further.

And yet you have never felt comfortable with them.

No enemy forces that you can see. Thankfully the Vran are not very sneaky and you feel confident that nothing stands in your way.

Then Azarl will proceed, descending to the beach and following it to the ship. Is there any way to walk to the ship or does Azarl need to swim out?

The waters surrouding the ship look deep. Swimming obviously comes with its dangers.

Could Azarl use a rock to hover across on using Lifting to transport himself? I am okay if it is a slow process.

Or I could put big rocks in place and move out there.

Lifting yourself tends to be frowned upon and would require some massive point expenditures. As would moving rocks large enough to sink into the harbor and still stand upon.

How many points are we talking? Azarl should have Super Lift.

It will cost two points. You have five remaining currently.

I will go ahead and make the spend. I cannot afford any more damage right now just getting over to the big rusty ship that I'm sure is full of traps and monsters.

Azarl will find some suitably large rocks and focus his Will to move them to a spot where he can just hop across to the old spaceship wreck.

Here we can cue some dramatic John Williams piece as Azarl exerts his Will, wading out into the water (but keeping a safe distance) before closing his eyes and extending his clawed insectoid hands out toward the shoreline. You select some LARGE rocks, possibly bigger than anything you have moved before...

Two successes starts you off. The smallest of the massive rock slabs shudders and raises out of the sand, painstakingly slow.

Probably a Dark Side theme... Emperor's... I'm pretty awesome.

Azarl does not stop despite the strain and keeps trying to move the rocks, dragging it across the sand and into the water.

Three successes this time. The smallest rock gains some momentum as it drags across the beach, and the next largest rock starts to move behind it, wobbling minutely before crossing the sand an inch at a time...

Azarl keeps enforcing his Will on the giant rocks, pushing with every ounce of strength his mind can muster to get the rocks where he needs them to be so he can jump out to the wreck, instead of swim and face the beasts beneath the waves.

Four successes now! Had you been an Orphan template this would have been all too easy, but you seem to be getting the hang of this. The giant rocks begin to move easier as you familiarize yourself with their weight and shape and put them to your bidding...

"Hey!"

It takes great focus not to drop the task at hand, but someone just shouted at you.

Azarl keeps his focus on the rocks, not wanting to drop them and have to restart his activity. How close is he to being done?

A few more rolls to go...

Azarl will stay focused and see how far he can get before someone tries to interrupt what he does.

Just one success this time, maybe from the distraction! The shout's source moves closer.

Keep trying! Azarl wants to make his crossing as easy as possible considering his condition.

Five successes this time! Your rocks are nearly in position, but before you make the next roll, you will be in close quarters with whomever is heading your way.
