attempted to gain the infinity gauntlet, the cache magus had in infinity war, onslaught's power, etc

Galactus is nigh omnipotent and Doom stole all of his power.

No, Galactus at his best is somewhere in the ballpark of Eternity's hype and Death. But we've never seen Galactus at his height.

That's considerably below the Infinity Gauntlet, HoTU, The Spectre's higher showings, 5th Dimensional Imps and the power that was being thrown around in Trinity.

None of those are anywhere near nigh omnipotent. =/

He doesn't need to be as strong as them to be nigh omnipotent.

Doom is their peer, get over it.

they are if you consider he didn't have any of their hangups or a hunger to worry about satiating. all of those powers are open ended and can increase through the ability to draw in more of the same power.

No Doom has them beat in sheer amount of power usurption. But his power grabs are mostly beings who are not anywhere near nigh omnipotent. I mean if we take out the Cube level for all 3, Doom only has Secret Wars and Children's Crusade.

And even then, Joker only loses an non-canon crossover example (pre-2011 reboot) and Thanos is untouched.

That's pure speculation though.

Galactus has nigh omnipotent reality altering powers.

Doom showed that in SW1.

You're still wrong, just let it go.

No, I'm not.

Galactus isn't Nigh Omnipotent. Unless this forum wants to say that Skyfathers are suddenly the bare line definition for Nigh Omnipotent since they think Zeus, Odin and Galactus are all peers.

Doom later acquired Beyonder's powers when Beyonder was the most powerful in Marvel...

So...did you miss the fight where Galactus was shown to be above Odin?

No, I just see the forum still saying Odin and Galactus are peers to this day. Won't name names.

We are talking about that garbage Fraction did, right?

So you're listening to posters instead of looking at the only fight they have had?

Yes.

No, I thought the fight was trash and did neither character justice and was more Galactus jobbing.

But that doesn't change that I think calling Galactus "nigh omnipotent" is making the term itself far more lacking in worth.

That's a really liberal use of the term. Especially since there are plenty of folks in Marvel, let alone anywhere else, that can hand Galactus his head.

Are we really going to sit here and cheapen "Omnipotent" and "Nigh Omnipotent" just so Doom can be Mr. Perfect-Best at Everything?

Thanos and Doom are definitely more powerful and better villains than Joker, just give the damn clown one of the few things he's good at.

Well, anyway, I'm right yet again.

Better in effectiveness, not Better in characterization or popularity or anything. Those are up to each fan to decide.
