USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE VI (LIGHT SIDE)- Missing Links

Vera-Kin stays near the Osokan, in case it needs help. Based on it warding her off when she offers help, she assumes he is okay. She Scans him.

"Can you tell me what happened here?" Vera-Kin will ask. If he doesn't respond to Basic, she'll try Osokan, if she knows any.

Up top-

Indeed, Jelena, this all seems very sloppy. They must have known they needed to get the shield down, as they were deploying starships, but this is all over the place. Something didn't go to plan.

There are a number of guards still around on the upper levels (though not by the generator- they're dead). The survivors really don't know very much though- it was all so chaotic. What they can tell you for certain, though, is that Merek never went down to the casino unless there was an issue. He virtually lived up here. Indeed, he was actually meant to be having an important appointment when all this happened- but the guards are not aware of details.

Bad news on the computers- seems they remembered to cover this one. The systems are physically intact but they have been software and hardware spiked. There are no records of what went on.

"Drat," Jelena says, upon realizing that the computer systems were completely wiped. She does find it very odd that they took the time to carefully wipe the computers but had to butcher the shield generator and fight frantically.

"This couldn't have been easily done, right?" she asks R3-U9. She uses her Fix-It knowledge to check too, if she can or if there's anything to check about the system.

Well thought out, Jelena. Indeed, something doesn't add up here. Everything else looks frantic and wild, but this looks controlled.

When exactly did they do this? It's not something you could do in the middle of a firefight. Did they have someone up here before the fight started? How does that square with the elevator damage?

You definitely feel something is missing from your understanding.

The wipe is pretty thorough but you never know- a Fix-It analysis would take time though.

Now he is growling at you. Osokans have no love for Jedi.

Wait- he's carrying a neurowhip. The dread weapon of the Osokans that they used in their exterminations- banned now throughout the a galaxy except on Lanzar itself.

Worse still- he's wearing the emblem of the hunting guilds. They're illegal even on Lanzar. The Jedi went to considerable trouble to get them disbanded!

Seeing the Hunting Guild emblem and the neurowhip, Vera-Kin gets nervous. She resists the temptation to get at least one saber in hand. She puts her hands out, palms open.

"I mean no harm," Vera says. "We need to know what happened here. Will you talk to me?"

Could she reasonably arrest him for possessing the whip?

Well, you think so, though...

A nearby cough interrupts your thoughts. A man has come up from the stairs below- in the grey tunic of the Bureau, with a noticeably larger array of coloured squares on one side than normal. He looks a little different as well. The two dead agents here are hardly body builders but they look fit and active. This man is thin; ill-suited to his uniform, and very pale.

"Master Jedi," he says. "My apologies it has taken so long to make any sort of personal contact. As you can probably guess, we are in a certain amount of confusion right now and trying to get to grips with what has happened. I am Supervising Agent Sri S'Nar. I've been assigned to make sense of all of this, and I would be perfectly happy to liaise with you here. I can only apologise again that we have distracted you from your mission."

Rast will come over, eyes flicking between Master Vera and the Osokan Hunter back from the dead.

"Maybe this is what went wrong," Rast says to Vera-Kin. "They don't like Jedi, I can't imagine they appreciated Dark Jedi showing up here, sabers out. Most dangerous game, hmm?"

He aims that last sentence at the Osokan.

I posted after by accident but I think I can say that in this guy's presence.

Rast will let Vera-Kin or the other Jedi handle the suit. He probably still doesn't feel great about the Bureau yet.

"Not a distraction, Agent S'Nar," Vera-Kin responds, momentarily taking her attention from the Osokan. "I believe I found... a possible witness to these events. This Osokan survived the attack of wanted terrorist Nume Rand and his team. However... he's a member of the disbanded and outlawed Hunting Guilds, and not responding well to me. Keep your distance, Agent, for your safety."

"Either they got someone else up here first or someone else beat them to it," Xeth says. "We don't have time for a lengthy check, and I'm not leaving R3 here to work on it."

Xeth thinks Merek met with the Bureau, unless we can find some other high-profile gamblers or something among the dead.

"Could your droid download the system and work on the go?" Jelena asks for the sake of asking, though that seems a bit much. "This feels important to not take the time, in a hurry though we are. Maybe if we worked together it would go faster."

No-one of note you recognise, Xeth.

"Oh, the Osokan would have been with my men," says S'Nar. "Show some respect," he says, in turn, to the Osokan. He returns to you. "I hate to stand on ceremony, but this is an official investigation, you understand. There's paperwork, administration, channels to go through- reports to be made. You understand that I do not have anything against you or your companion," he says, nodding to Rast, "personally... but I do need to keep things appropriately official. When it comes to anything related to legislative matters. A matter of professionalism, if you see what I mean."

Gallagher may interject here, knowing how well Andro handles the bureaucratic types, and knowing the unofficial status and nature of Vera-Kin and Rast.

"Agent, are you saying we may not interview this Osokan until he files his report with you and your organization?"

Vera-Kin will Scan Agent S'Nar. Unofficial or no, she will continue to count on her status as a Jedi Master to carry on, on an official Jedi Order mission.

"Forgive me, Agent, but my understanding here isn't complete." She gestures to the Osokan. "When you say that the Osokan was with your men, you mean to say in an official Bureau capacity? Could you elaborate?"

"Ah!" says S'Nar, when Gallagher interjects. "Well, this works much better, you see. In an official capacity. You see, if I disclose anything of a legislative nature, my superiors are going to ask whom I disclosed it to, and I am sure you can appreciate it looks quite awkward if I tell them I have disclosed it to a... ah... civilian, even one in good standing. The public, you see. They ask questions. They do have a right to know official information is disseminated correctly, of course."

Slippery mind, Vera. Unusually difficult to sense much.

Rast narrows his eyes. This man was briefed on who answered the distress beacon. He knows about the Renegades in the party.

"We're not..." Rast starts. He bites his tongue before he can say 'civilians' or more. Rast will go take a closer look at the blasted window.

"I represent the Jedi Order in an official capacity," Gallagher says. "We believe that events here intersect with our own investigation, ordered by the Jedi Council. Destiny would have it that we were but a system away from Robine when your cruiser put out its distress call."

Gallagher offers Vera and Rast an apologetic half-grin before talking with S'Nar.

He also Scans the Agent, perhaps with better results as Gallagher has a more intuitive connection to the Force.

Same deal on the scan I am afraid!

"I would be glad to liaise," says S'Nar. "You are Jedi responding to a planetary crisis- a fine example to all. But in regards to the investigation you are on- I am afraid I am not aware of any connection. There is no reason to believe the Lady Adelmo is responsible for this, is there?"

Vera-Kin contemplates her difficulty sensing S'Nar's intentions. She exhibits a Master's patience when the Agent more or less disregards her.

"I understand you must respect procedure. Gallagher will make a perfect point of contact for you..."

She steps back to allow the young Knight to take over, still watching the Osokan warily. She wonders how this thing could be here, and why.

"You've done your homework," Gallagher notes. "This may not be directly Adelmo's doing, but she and this particular Dark Side sect may share common cause, even if not in league."
