USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE VI (LIGHT SIDE)- Missing Links

"I do like to stay informed. After all, the Bureau is co-operating heavily in the Adelmo case. So, if we find a direct link here, then by all means, this could become part of your case and your whole team would have the Council's authority.

"Do not think I do not take this case seriously, though. Before my recent promotion, Galder and Rand and their thugs were actually my case. Indeed, I tracked them to the Treganna Void, where they ended up making that public display with so-called Emperor Rivas. If only that man had offered us any sort of co-operation, I would have been able to catch them then. He certainly paid for that. Well, I knew these people would come up again one day- though I wish it had not been in quite such unpleasant circumstances."

"I can't imagine they would show up under anything more pleasant," Gallagher says, eyeing the carnage about them. "They've made a resurgence as of late. I feel strongly that there must be a connection. Adelmo has become more reckless, and so have they, it seems. Will you allow us to continue our investigation here?"

He smiles.

"It's not a question of allow, Master Jedi. I'm here to help. Indeed, I hope to help make this as fast as possible so you can get back to your vital work. I just need to observe certain niceties when disclosing information."

Gallagher will return the smile.

"We certainly appreciate the assistance."

(What I'm hearing is that the Renegades can't interview survivors or look around or... really much of anything)

"Can you help us get an account of what happened here? Regardless of the Osokan's affiliations, he did witness events as they occurred, and apparently took part in the fight."

We could let the Bureau analyze the wiped security system then. They'll save us time there and still, hopefully, get results.

As for what happened- S'Nar reveals that the irritating thing from his side is that his Agents didn't report any details of what they were doing here- they just left a vague message about 'meeting an informant'.

"This sort of confusion is what happens when people do not follow procedure," he adds.

As for the Osokans- well, the Bureau makes dangerous enemies for itself.

"I am sure you can appreciate that certain interstellar criminals- like these people- require specialised methods during investigation."

To that end, the Guilds have been re-licensed, but under the Bureau's control. The neurowhip is allowed for these licensed Osokan hunters so long as they are supervised by agents.

"They act as bodyguards for our men in dangerous situations," he says."They are not afraid of fighting people of this calibre, you see, which is unusual. It's a purely defensive measure, obviously- though in this case, not defensive enough. Of course, my men would have brought far more if they thought they were going to run into trouble of this magnitude."

Can us folks on the upper level track the Dark Siders path perhaps? Like try to piece together where they went from the elevator to wherever it was they left and try come up with a sort of timeline of events.

Maybe that will help us work out what the deal with the erased hardware is all about.

I believe I took a point of Law for just this sort of interaction.
Would it be better if I popped downstairs and talked to S'nar?

I think trying establish a timeline is helpful.
Spiking the computers must have been the first thing, as well luring Malek downstairs. So they must have had to sneak someone into the upstairs area. What do we know about the security system? How could someone have bypassed it? How would we have gone about this?

Also, adding on to this. We know basically everyone who was involved in this. We can start piecing together who was who. Lets ask the survivors about Galder and Rand and everyone else to try to see where they were located. Was Galder involved in the downstairs fight?

Actually something else came to mind when thinking about electronics. The strange comms jamming we ran into in orbit was coming from the planet. We should try figure out where that was coming from.

Is it possible such a thing could have been set up on this level or would it have needed some kind of powerful transmitter?

Jelena also took Law; if Roan and her need to step in, they're happy to.

I feel like Galder probably didn't come up here, if their plan involved pick-up by starship. It would explain the bombing runs that took place around the casino, and the destruction of the shield generator's power supply internally.

In terms of tracking in the upper level, clearly they went up the elevator shaft (maybe they dropped the elevator to try dissuading pursuit from behind?), then took out the power supply, then got out of here. I think they took Merek's air car, but I can't imagine they all fit, so maybe the starship pick-up AT the tower wasn't part of the plan?

"'Meeting an informant?' Based on what we know, I believe they may have met with Galen Merek, the late owner of this establishment," Gallagher says. "We believe the Dark Jedi were after him also. Perhaps Merek knew something about them he wished to share with the Bureau? Were these Agents stationed in the system, or nearby?"

Gallagher ponders whether the Osokans wish to redeem their galactic profile by assisting the Bureau in tracking down criminals or if they simply enjoy hunting (as Rast put it earlier) the "most dangerous game." Force-users would certainly put up a challenge.

"What is a neurowhip?" Gallagher asks, fairly ignorant about the Galaxy beyond his own experiences with it. He never paid Master Korth mind on topics beyond the Force.

Rast probably started ignoring Agent S'Nar and the conversation with him after the 'suit' put him and Master Vera-Kin down. He keeps examining the blown-out metal window. If a starship blew it in, he assumes it would be to lend supporting fire to those inside. Does it look like anyone shot into the casino itself? Torpedoes or lasers or anything?

If not, what would it have taken to climb outside and set a bomb?

You know Galder's ship was involved in the attack and you doubt he lent it out. No-one reported his presence at the high rollers fight. Rand, however, was in the casino fight- not only has Vera found evidence of that, the Bureau actually reported it on their distress call.

Wentar- it's hard to make any sense of it at all. But unless they went on a round tour of the tower- towards Merek's escape vehicle on one side, the shield generator in the middle and the part that was shot to pieces on the other- you are fairly sure they split. There's no sigh of any equipment here that would match the jamming issue you encountered. You are pretty sure it would need specialised equipment.

Roan- it's an expensive security system with cameras and records and what-not, but it's all just programming in the end. The only awkward thing about a sophisticated slice like this is the amount of care and concentration it would take.

Jelena- well, this would certainly have discouraged pursuit, but it's a rather over-the-top way to disable a lift.

Gallagher- S'Nar isn't sure what possible sort of threat a man like Merek could have posed to the Dark Siders, or how he could have ended up with any useful information.

"But these people kill at any slight," he says. "Take Rivas. They didn't have to kill him. They seemed to be after something from his prison in Datura, so they got themselves locked up in there, got what they wanted and escaped clean.

"But then they came back to the Void- just to take on Rivas. On camera. That's the sort of person we are talking here- they'd cross half the galaxy to take out someone who has annoyed them.

"So, I am supposing this man had frustrated them in some criminal enterprise- maybe he took some of their money. Knowing he had annoyed such dangerous people, he summons my Agents here, hoping they will protect him."

Rast- himm, indeed, if this was a starship strike, it was exceptionally precise. There's no sign of any starfighter fire into the room itself at all.

As for bombing it from the outside- holy heck, that's a hell of a climb up the tower. Not impossible with the Force but even you would baulk at it. Plus the outside of the tower is full of security sensors; it would be delicate as well as challenging.

So thats the goal. To find out what the darkies wanted with Merek. Would be real nice if we could find some secret trove of Sith Artifacts or something. But overall it looks like they were trying to kill him. His upper level living quarters were not ransacked, so its doesn't seem like they were after anything material. So he must be involved with something, or mean something. This doesn't seem like money.

I'll go downstairs and tell this to S'nar. Maybe we can get the power of the Bureau to run background checks and understand all the enterprises Marek was into.

(Sorry, been on vacation in the Smokies.)

As Gallagher predicted, Andro has been pointedly ignoring the grey-uniformed Bureaucrat. Merely the man's tone set Andro on edge enough that he had to take a few calming breaths.
Instead, Andro was watching the Osokan intently. Probably one of the most dangerous beings he has ever encountered, surviving a fight like this with the Dark Jedi.

Precious few in the history of this Galaxy have ever been able to point to an old scar from a lightsaber wound. This fellow may be laying claim to that feat in the near future, so long as he behaves himself.

To pass the time while Galalgher plays verbal chess with the suit, Andro continues to observe the Osokan, plotting out several possible avenues of attack.

Just in case.

Well, S'Nar is happy to meet the leader of the Jedi team but they can't really add anything more than is already known; Merek was a legitimate businessman. It's an open secret that there was more to it than that but it will likely take a long time to force any of that out of an paperwork etc.

S'Nar is also having the surviving Osokans herded out. He'll get statements from them when they have recovered.

Gallagher will ask that Supervising Agent S'Nar get those statements over to them as soon as possible. He wishes he could interview the Osokan right now.

"Certainly this particular Dark Side sect goes out of their way to make a point to those that have incurred their wrath, rational or not, but this was a plunge deep into Republic space. Even for them, that seems too great a risk to simply dole out revenge, considering this gets them fully on your radar and ours."

The idea of it simply being an act of destruction certainly rings true with Sienar's view of the Dark Side, but Gallagher isn't sure that these people share that view.

So it would require someone of peak physical fitness, possibly with use of the Force, to even make the climb. Would they need equipment? And could the sensors be bypassed or muffled somehow? Otherwise maybe they timed the climb with the security system wipe upstairs.

Hell, how long would it take in comparison with the fight?

Why gamble at all if they just planned on blowing their way in anyway?

It's all possible, just very difficult, and that's a reasonable question from Xeth.

Time is running by and you guys do have your own case to get back to? Any particular activities anyone wishes to do?
