I don't suppose promising to do everything we can to get him some access will convince him.

Also, can't we just write the list down?

You can listen to him dictate if you want, but it will take longer. Paper doesn't seem to exist in Star Wars, so it's all done via tech.

How would we get it in to him without opening the cell?

There's a secure compartment that can be used to slide stuff to him.

Do we even have the authority to grant these demands?

That is obviously not something we can do, Thule has made it clear we have as much authority in this facility as the Tauntauns.

You'll need to bring it to Thule, though if it helps your case the Council will keep leaning.

(OK. Let's have Saar disctate his list and we'll record it on a datapad and take it to Thule right away. Let's keep the interview moving. We have to secretly discuss every request and Saar may tire of us.)

(too late to say, but I agreed: no datapad, just take the long but safer route, who knows what he could do with a datapad)

Very well, then Saar spends a while dictating the list to you. It is exactly as he said- a mix of various broadcasts he wants access to.

Sorry for being so out of touch, been trying to finish up all my grad work, thesis and all that.

Saar clearly has something he's looking for in these entertainment vids, but he also has to know, that we would look at them too.

So as I see it, we've got 3 options:
1) There is some pattern that he is trying figure out, and he's simply arrogant enough to think that he can find it and we can't no matter how much we look at it, so he doesn't mind us talking a looking at everything.
2) He's just messing with us. He really doesn't want anything from the vids, but knows that we'll look through everything we give him with a fine tooth comb. I don't know what his endgame with this would be though. He wouldn't gain much from wasting our time...
3) He is looking for something specific, but is hiding it in the middle of a bunch of chaff. This seems to be the most likely possibility. But then the question becomes, what is true and useful and what is just filler or crap. This would go back to the recurring statement about a good liar being able to mix truth and lies.

It may be a combination of 1 and 3.

Perhaps we should bargain with those. Offer one broadcast for each question, his choice on which broadcast he gets. Then maybe we'll know which ones are most important to him if we want to look into it further.

I don't think thats the best idea.
I think that we will get much better information if we just get Saar talking. If we start barganing question for question, he'll try to game the system, give short or cryptic answers.

Regardless I think we are all in agreement that we at least have to give him what he asks for.
