This might be extreme, but I think he'll be somewhere where nobody else is. Some uninhabitable world or an abandoned one. A planet nobody would really want to go to normally.

And outside the Republic, for sure.

UninhabitED, yes. UninhabitABLE- that's a LOT of hassle to live on.

Jelena- why is that?

He may set up in an abandonde asteroid mining facility, something prebuilt and abandoned than he cna just move into and make operational and it would be out of the way for more people.

Outside of the republic seems to be easier for harboring illegal things, but inside would make shipping a hell of a lot less conspicious and easier. If he's shipping lots of things out of the republic, someone's gotta notice...

Think more about what you know he needs to do- practical things. First and foremost, what does he do for a living?

Well he is a businessman, but I don't think we actually nailed down what his corporation actually DOES...

It makes money, and that is all that is important. You've been told what he does.

He is a collector so he would need access to a large and secure storage facility, he would need access to holonet communications, and taps on news, finantial networks and archaeological digs, he would need taps on auction markets regarding rare items ect. Maybe he's on Myrkr, perfectly safe from Force users, and surrounded by Ysalamiri, some smuggler and trader shipping, and mercernaries, but out of the way of most of the Republic and the rest of the galaxy. Depends on how paranoid this guy.

/facepalm. You really need to stop assuming EU stuff is used in this game Jedireaper. 😛

Still! Good point! He is a collector of valuable artifacts so I doubt he'll be anywhere 'hazardous'.

I still say that he would be outside of the Republic, if we're sticking with the uninhabited world theory. I highly doubt there are any habitable, yet uninhabited worlds within the Republic. Outside of the Republic there are probably dozens of habitable worlds that haven't been touched due to lack of infrastructure.

EU or no, Denz is right about some things there- he does indeed need access to the relevant financial networks, else he couldn't make decisions about his companies. He'd need very good galactic comms.

And I assume that he would like to be around his collection, so he'd need somewhere with space.

I can assume EU as much as I want- thats my perogative really. *pouts*
In that case tell me- what planets exist in this game? If it's only planets mentioned in the films that must be one hell of a small Republic.

Do people forget that Coruscant was an EU planet first?

Any was as mentioned my points were valid, and I mentioned secure storage a space. Now without using the Eu I have no idea what planets he might use in or out of the Republic.

I think the main point is that you are going about it wrong.
Our task isn't to (as such) go out and pick the planet out of a list of them, but to narrow down the types of planets or locations based on categories, and then assume that our characters do the necessary legwork to come up with the right name.

So you are on the right track with the storage space. Now our characters will look for planets that fit our criteria, and Ush will let us know what we find, (usually ending up with either an obscure EU planet, or one of his own creation).

Could it be that planets like Hoth can't be on the list because the snowstorms would interfere with his communication?

With Hoth, not just snowstorms but distance- a clue I am giving you as Jovan is thinking in the right area.

Remember, in the outer rim, galactic comms are very poor. He can't be that far out.

A floating (abandoned) Tibanna gas mining facility, on Bespin, or Taloraan perhaps? Space, security, and decent galactic communications.

So, lets think about it.
Its gotta be a relatively close planet, with good comms. but with enough space for his collections and enough security that he feels safe.
Something like Bespin did initially come to mind, actually. Anything like that around?

That is a good point! So he has to be within, or at least very close to the Republic... Here's what we know now.

He's a loner, but keeps in good range of Galactic Comms. He's probably dealing with the Trade Fed's with droid servants and advanced tech for monitoring his company. And lastly it needs to be secure enough to protect him and his ancient artifact collection.

What else is there?

He doesn't need to be with his collection- he could secure that in any vault. He was never with it 24/7.

There are hundreds of Bespin-like worlds. It's time for you to get some more direct leads on where he might be, which you can now combine with your above deductions.
