USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE VI (LIGHT SIDE)- Missing Links

Started by Tptmanno1173 pages

We can Re-Con our conversation Aurel, so that you are up to speed by the time we get to the prison.

"Hello, welcome to the team Aurel. I am Roan Trilanger, the leader of this motley band of Jedi. So, what we have recently found out, is that a new agency created by the Senate, The Agency on Immigration and Undesirables [I think thats its name, don't have time to look it up now] has set up this prison in orbit above Coresaunt to house its most dangerous prisoners. Currently, the only prisoner here is a Dark Jedi named Saar. Incidentally, Saar, Xeth and myself have a bit of a history, we were the ones who brought him to justice, after the affair with Kuylen...[I will post a link to the recap of that campaign] Anyway, we found out that he was there, and that he had information about Adelmo [See the last several episodes], and we went and talked to him, which sent us on a bit of a wild goose chase to find this businessman named Lennah, who we found dead in his little hideout. So now going back to try to get some more answers out of Saar."

(Let me know if none of that makes sense.)

That should be it!
Good luck!

That is certainly a lot of reading! Good thing I'm running short on completed Retrospections, then, as I can devote more time to the now much more important information! 😛

I think for the sake of allowing opportunity for dialogue and character development, I won't treat Aurel as having extensive knowledge of past events, since he wouldn't really be so keen, nor might he even be privileged, with knowing details about previous missions that didn't involve him.

______

Aurel frowns slightly as Doctor Thule responds to Jelena, though he overlooks it as his mind dwells on the briefing Roan had given him. It did well to sum up current events, which was useful, but the young Jedi could tell he would need to take some time to learn more about what had led up to this point. He really wanted to speak with Roan in more detail, but time was of the essence, and so they had all been transported to this prison...if one could call it that.

Aurel wonders how effective this place could be in holding dangerous individuals, particularly a Dark Jedi, with an apparent lack of personnel. Perhaps it was more of a psychiatric ward than a penitentiary? It would certainly explain the authority Dr. Thule seemed more than willing enough to make aware he possessed.

Its a bit of both, also the security is based on the fact that its up in space, with no way on or off. And there is a huge amount of security, but we've sorta bypassed that description this time.

Ok, so I don't think we ever completely spelled this timeline out. So I'm gonna do it.

1) Lennah becomes reclusive, and spends lots of time at his little hideout.
2) Adelmo, knowing about, or finding this hideout, sends Katai to deal with Lennah. Katai kills him, but sets him up so that he keeps checking in and all that, so that it looks like he's still alive.
(we do not know, at this point, what Katai was after, or why Adelmo wanted to kill Lennah.)
3) Saar, using Elziar's login, goes to his hideout, finds him dead, looks through the logs for something, and leaves.
(We also do not know what Saar found, or was looking for)

NOW: Saar knew that Lennah was dead, and knew that we DIDN'T know that. So he sent us on a wild goose chase to find the dead Lennah. The question, then, is why did he do this? Was it just to amuse him, and waste our time? Or was there some other reasoning behind it?

Also, what are we trying to get out of Saar? He's not going to tell us why he went to find Lennah, or at least not give us a straight answer....

Wild Speculation that I just thought of: What if Saar still has some manner of contact with Adelmo, and his want for the broadcasts that we gave him, are to get a message or signal from Adelmo, or something of the sort?

"We are fully aware of the damage that we are doing to your research and reformative efforts, and it is highly unfortunate," Jelena says. "If we did not believe it was entirely necessary, we would not be here.

"However, we already know that Saar will not talk to you of any of this. He would not speak with us until he was certain you were not listening, as you recall. If we send you to try retrieving information, he will know that we have filled you in on what he hoped you would not hear, and our link to him will be entirely lost.

"The fact that we betrayed his trust (whatever little he is capable of) might damage his mental state further, as well. He is already a paranoid individual."

-

I think he did it to waste our time. I don't know if he had anything to gain from it.

Jelena is curious if the broadcasts that Lennah was "looking" at and the ones we gave to Saar have any connection.

I thought Lennah was looking at financial read-outs?

"You are letting Saar set the agenda by catering to his whims! He delights in being able to demand that he only talk to you people. It's a deliberate assault on my authority!

"I shall be making a complaint about this!"

-

Aurel- well, Thule works for this 'Bureau' organisation, which is apparently starting to specialise in this sort of thing. Saar's cell itself is, you understand, very secure. In any case, there's no way off this station. Even you Jedi specifically have to request special shuttles- you don't use your own ships to dock- and they leave as soon as they drop you off.

"It is not intended to be a slight on our part," Jelena says. "We fully respect your authority, Doctor, and if a complaint must be filed, then please do so.

"I am certain that Saar gets all sort of enjoyment from this manipulative game he is playing. But he won't respond, otherwise. Unless you have a suggestion?"

Denzral will speak if Jelena or Roan allow him...

"Doctor Thule, I believe it will be of interest to note how his behaviour changes as your work is interrupted even further, and he becomes destabilised. It could even prove that your techniques are more than effective to treat individuals by seeing how far he can fall from where you've taken him. Of course... if it comes to that.

"With the new information in mind, you could easily further your research into his condition, and certainly start again, you have the time and the funding, however, we do not have that same luxury of time as you do, Doctor, so please..."

Thule gives a very sceptical "Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..." look to you all.

For now, though, you may see the prisoner again.

We're going to have to think of some way to keep Thule happy. If we suddenly need to see Saar any more times after this it'll be extremely tricky to get permission for another meeting from him. Perhaps we can think up a legal reason for future use or just try butter Thule up some more somehow.

Anyway lets see what Saar has to say concerning our return.

-

Wentar bows his head in gratitude. "Thank you very much Doctor Thule, we really do appreciate this."

I can't help it. That long "Hmm" puts an image of Philip J. Fry with squinty eyes staring at the group of Jedi for a full minute. I will now have to refer to Thule as "Doctor Fry". 😆 I feel terrible.

Also, I feel I have to mention something concerning the rebuttal's to Aurel's thoughts on security for the station. I understand that it is actually quite effective at what it is has been designed for, as a player. It is Aurel's personal misgivings as a character that brought up the concern of apparent lack of staff.

Still, thank you, everyone, for being considerate enough to remind me of the situation. 😊
______

Aurel bows slightly with some of the other Jedi in appreciation to the doctor. While the group files out of Thule's office, he takes a moment to formerly introduce himself.

"Hello Doctor, my name is Aurel Sing. I have been recently assigned to this investigation as well, and do apologize, as my comrades have, for our disturbance in your halls."

Xeth is less than pleased that they have to keep going through Thule. At some point the good doctor will tell us to get the hell off his station and we won't have access to Saar.

Thule has to accompany you to go through the security measures once more, of course.

As you pass through various security bulkheads, it seems eerily empty in here, Aurel. This is a huge facility. It makes no sense to you.

Soon enough you come to Saar's cell. As before, most of the wall of it facing your side is one-way transparent until the controls are operated so Saar can see and hear out, so right now you can see him. He is standing facing away from the viewing wall, facing instead now the new equipment built into his room- the viewing monitor. This monitor has actually been built in a secured corner of the room, itself surrounded by translucent material (this time, both-ways by default) just in case Saar has any thoughts about dismantling it. Saar holds a simple remote which can only change the channels on that monitor. He is watching an inconsequential news broadcast, causing light to flicker into his gloomy cell in a fashion that, just for a moment, reminds you of Lennah.

"You're late," he says, without turning, and indeed before Thule has set it so Saar can see or hear out. "Either your instincts or your detection skills are less than what I was led to believe of the Jedi."

The reminder of Lennah irritates Gallagher.

"These things take time," Gallagher starts off. "And ultimately, you wasted our time. You already knew where Lennah was and what state he was left in. I hope you enjoyed whatever you watched while we were off finding Ayad."

Rast thinks this place was designed for more than just holding Saar but they don't have any other prisoners. Either the Bureau isn't that great or something happened to them. Otherwise we wouldn't feel weird like Aurel. Or maybe I'm making it up.

We'd probably feel worse if it were full of Dark Jedi.

Rio Rast doesn't say anything to Saar. He doesn't like talking to him.

He can't actually hear you yet...

Define 'something happened to them', Rast.

Gallagher will probably have said it out loud, forgetting himself, but won't repeat it when Saar can hear and see. His ability to sense and foresee is incredibly sharp, which unnerves Gallagher.

He will stay quiet when Thule opens up the outside world to Saar.

Thule does indeed head for the controls but Saar speaks again.

"You are perfectly capable of operating the isolation controls. Tell the Doctor to leave."

Saar speaks very deliberately and makes much of the word 'isolation'.

I'd say they were put in a deep dark hole sonewhere but that's what this is.

So maybe they're dead? I would hope not because they were captured then killed. I can't imagineevil Dark Jedi wanting to be locked up so maybe they wouldn't or couldn't be taken alive.

Gallagher frowns, wondering if Saar even feels isolated.

"We'll see you after, Doctor," Gallagher says. "We're sorry again."

Once Thule goes, he will flip the switch to give Saar access to us.

"Hello again Saar," Gallagher says.
