USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE VI (LIGHT SIDE)- Missing Links

Well, other than being a horrible idea, you've no idea how they would do that. The Bureau has excellent facilities for the likes of electronic intercepts and the tracking of criminals. Indeed, is the function it was set up for- legal co-ordination between sovereign worlds in the Republic is notoriously poor, with the Jedi being the only federal-level force and being far too few to follow all criminals individually. The Bureau has brought in a new structure where criminals are traced as they move between worlds (it;s full name is the Bureau of Immigration and Undesirables).

Their logistical help is what enabled the team you are now with to catch Kara Katai which in turn led to this mission you are now on... but it was you Jedi who took Katai down. Bureau agents trying that would have been shot to pieces. Tracking criminals and smugglers is one thing, but Dark Siders are quite another. Put simply and not wanting to sound arrogant (Well... maybe a bit...)... the Bureau aren't qualified to take them

Part of it may be Ush giving me my first portrayal of the station since I've never been here before. If I were to link to my character, I would say its unnerving because of Aurel's upbringing. As a native Coruscanti (?) he is used to there always being people around. Even at the Temple there were likely be an obvious presence of Jedi. It makes the lack of bodies more apparent.

Although I too may be looking too much into it.

_____

Aurel follows the group to the containment cell, the young Jedi observes his surroundings, a slight frown resting on his face as they continue on. So much space, yet only the doctor and the Dark Jedi seemed present. It unnerved him. The feeling only grew, then, as the group was led before the window that showed Saar rather casually observing some broadcast.

"Can he see us?" Aurel asks quietly, though he knew it was a vaguely obtuse question since he had not seen Saar move at all before speaking. His question is answered for him as Thule activates the controls, and Aurel decides to remain silent again for the moment.

So then why do they have a giant facility for holding people like Saar? Don't the Jedi have their own thing like this? They can help us track them sure but if they're not qualified to take them down... I mean this place isn't meant for normal criminals though the Bureau probably tracks them too. They would go to normal jail for normal people.

And it doesn't sound like they like working with us too much if Thule's attitude means anything. Maybe he's an exception? He has a lot of power up here.

To Gallagher-

Jelena puts a calming hand on his shoulder, to remind him to curb whatever he is feeling toward Saar.

"Don't let him get the best of you."

To Aurel-

"Not until we allow him to. Though as you can see, his senses are heightened; spending all this time in isolation has given him nothing to do but meditate and reach out with the Force."

To Rast-

"That... would be disturbing. It does seem odd that this is so empty. But then, they do not dedicate all of their resources solely to Dark Jedi. It is a subject even the Council has trouble broaching. Our recent investigation is somewhat an exception. The mission that took Saar was one that nearly never happened."

To Saar-

"We tried to be thorough when we needed to be quick," Jelena says. "We did find Ayad and saw what you probably already knew we would see. And not because you foresaw it. You had been to Lennah's base."

Vera just reminds everyone to stay composed and to not give Saar the satisfaction of displaying our frustration.

"It's what he's after," Vera-Kin says. "Or one thing."

Yes, the Jedi do have holding facilities. However, as the others can tell you, there was actually great difficulty getting Saar convicted of anything, as technically the crime the Jedi saw him doing were way outside their jurisdiction and- to summarise a long story- that Jedi mission was actually unsanctioned by the Council.

Saar has been interned indefinitely for psychological evaluation under a new law that the Bureau is responsible for, and hence he is being held in their custody. And hence a doctor running it. He told you it was custom built to house Dark Side criminals like Saar. That Saar is the inly person here is on the strange side. Dark Jedi are very rare- fair enough- but then why build the facility if you didn't need it?

-

Jelena- is that being said after Saar can hear you? Are you sending Thule away?

The only conclusion I can come up with is that they are expecting for more Dark Jedi to be...admitted to this place. Saar is a test subject, not just for Thule's studies, but of the facillity's capability for actively holding Dark Jedi.

From the tone of voice, I believe Brit is having Jelena speak to each Jedi before Saar can listen. Vera's caution, too, I would assume is before Saar can hear us, but I do not presume to dictate what their characters are doing.

______

Aurel nods quietly at Master Vera's advice, focusing on steadying himself for the meeting. His hand brushes along the hilt of his lightsaber as he lets his arms drop to his sides, the feel of the cylinder giving him some comfort.

"Saar." Denzral will greet without any signs of emotion either way. He did not know Saar in the same way the others did, to him, he was simply a Dark Jedi. One that might ACTUALLY go insane in this place.

I'll give it a chronology, just to be specific.

What I say to Gallagher is before Thule leaves, in response to Gallagher's little outburst.

What I say to Aurel can be whenever, it just explains how this works.

What I say to Rast is after Thule leaves. I doesn't matter if Saar can hear, I don't think.

And what I say to Saar, obviously, is after Thule has left and Saar can hear us.

I think what Aurel said is my line of thinking. They expect to have more I guess. How many do we think this place can hold? Ten Saars, a hundred Saars?

I'm assuming the Order hasn't sent anyone up here too. It's just Saar and that is still weird. They would have had to convince someone that there's a need for a huge station.

Also the fact that we didn't know about it being built is weird. Wouldn't everyone notice a new thing in the sky?

Even as high up as the skyscrapers on Coruscant get, I'm sure observing objects in orbit is probably difficult to the naked eye. Since the station was built as part of this Bureau, it probably isn't all that secret, at least not in terms of it being suspicious to authority figures.

Just so I'm clear on something as well, unless there is a divide in my posts, anything I will be speaking of will be out of character. In character dialogue and revelations will be separated from this. I mention this because of being referred to by my character name. If that is how you want to fer to me, that is fine, I just didn't want to leave any confusion. You can also call me Xanatos , or Xan, if it's easier.

(You know what? I never considered that the fact Saar is the only 'resident' strange. I just assumed that Saar was merely the first of many, meaning the facility was that new. Obviously not, now that I gve it thought. So, who's it for? Jedi that get in "someone's" way...?)

Thule succeeded in misdirecting us there. When we last asked he said it was 'designed' to hold many, but then brought the conversation back to Saar. I didn't give it much thought after that...

Honestly I assumed it was built to handle extraordinary cases (Aliens, psychos, ex-military) of extreme danger, not just Jedi/Dark Jedi. I just thought Saar's particular room was set up after they realized they needed a place to hold him.

Wentar just glares at Saar. Leaving a man in that forced state of half death is unforgivable, even if he wasn't the one to set it up.

So you guys are telling Thule to go away, yes?

It may be better if we at least make an attempt to keep Dr Thule with us. If we just dismiss him every time Saar asks it wont help us stay in the Doctors good books.

-

"Perhaps we should refuse his demand of sending Doctor Thule away," Wentar says aloud after Gallagher says his bit about the Doctor leaving. "I don't think we should just obey him like this. Especially not after what we found."

I do want to go on, but the way you treat Thule is a part of this story so I need to know what the pitch is.

Wentar says the Doctor should stay, partly because of what I said above concerning Saar and how he needs to understand that we wont just lie back and let him walk all over us.

Also because we are messing with Thule's treatment. We might not agree with it but he is a professional in what he does, certainly one of the best considering who he works for. At the very least we should try to find a way for him to sit in so he can adapt his treatments accordingly.

Just my 2 cents... Unsure if that was the pitch you were looking for or if it's something we need to be saying to Thule or Saar.

Yeah, if we can get him to join in, we should. We already bug the guy enormously and we might need his expertise in the future.

Saar won't talk with the Doctor there.

I think I'll retract everything I said (aside from the supportive comment to Gallagher and the explanation of the cell to Aurel) until we figure out if we're sending Thule away or not. As much as I'd like to keep him here, we need Saar to talk more than anything.

And I don't really want to waste time trying to reason with him.

Jelena will consult Thule.

"He wants you sent away again," Jelena says. "In your experience with him, is there some way we can reason with him, convince him to allow you to stay? He toyed with us and you have stated that we're bowing to his whims. How do we circumvent that?"

Even if we don't get Thule to stay, consulting him may make him feel less... used? Violated?
