USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE VI (DARK SIDE)- Enemy

Odd that we wouldn't be already locked down... we don't really have somewhere else to move the ships, perhaps we adapt things so that we stay out of the casino and near the ships, ready for take off, rather than leaving when things get weird?

They must not be looking yet.

There are no set retinue rules- they'll play it by ear. Consider that they want your business, but if everyone brought in large parties there'd be no room to breathe.

Okay. Well Rand will try to talk his way into getting the large group up there in support of Breko, so that nobody has to be left below.

Well I may need a bit more than that. Who is what, why are they there, why must they come up etc.

Weren't some of the people going to leave at this point and head back to the ships with Xavier?

I think that might be after we get up there but I'm not sure.

Could we argue that Rand is a wealthy entrepreneur "investing" his funds in Breko and that the group consists of Rand's advisors and clients and bodyguards? Maybe even going with Gallador's tactic of posing as a syndicate member of some sort. If it helps, he can claim to be seeking for future business ventures with Merik and his casino.

I don't have much to contribute to that aside from maybe that Rand is representing a group of "investors" and the talkie types could be the investors.

I'm fine with playing muscle as usual, until I've built up my social skills.

It's tricky because they will prefer the gambler himself to be the money man- it's meant to be a meeting of elite gamblers after all. Not impossible, just a harder roll.

Maybe we're just financial advisers, then? We attend to the business side of things while our beloved gambler just blows all the money?

No need for financial advisors to be up there in the exclusive gambling area!

You can just brute force this, btw. You can be very persuasive, and no I do not mean lightsabres.

You mean just take the Intimidation route? We're a pretty scary bunch...

Intimidation is probably not best for this sort of social scenario. I meant all your other range of persuasive powers from your social folk.

You mean just going for the roll and seeing how it goes, then? Rand has a high Lying pool, Relle has a good Persuade pool. And then there's Gallador's infinitely adept social talents.

Good rolls can certainly carry it. I was actually looking at the Mind Trick here, if you need to persuade people why you need so many people. That's far more practical than just mind tricking past everyone with no context at all.

Rand will go ahead and do that, then. With a wave of his hand and few simple words suggesting that Breko needs his staff with him, Rand forces security to accept the large group by influencing him with the Force.

Drop the point into it and avoid wasting time. With the Bureau here, we want to get up there quickly.

Should our pilots depart at this point?

That works too.

Good question- are the pilots going upstairs? No sign of the Bureau as of yet. They can;t be here for you, surely? They'd have locked everything down. But when why are they here at all?

They have to be here for someone/something else, but if we go investigating, we run the risk of them discovering our presence here. Also, if we head to the starport, we'll be hanging around for them to find us and left out of whatever goes on upstairs.

Then again, if we go upstairs, harder for us to leave if something goes wrong or the action starts too early, I'd assume.

Well, the Force does bring coincidences- but it really is stretching it that out of all the planets in the galaxy, the Bureau comes to this one searching for someone else.
