"I've never seen anything ignore lasers before," Relle says, shaking her head. She straps herself in as Xavier prepares to take evasive action.

Drawing fire is indeed a fair move- and Xavier and Galder both score hits! Just omne hit on Galder ans Azarl and 3 on Xavier; it all goies well. You can't be sure how much damage you have done- you don't feel like sticking around to inspect it.

Galder pulls away from the cruiser, feeling satisfied with the fiery glow his torpedoes created where the comm relay used to be.

"I hope that did the trick," Galder says. "Let's get out of here."

He aims the Paladin for open space and jets out of Robine's gravity well.

"Home? Or somewhere else?" Galder asks Rand. "We don't know for certain that they transmitted our transponder codes or not..."

(Which is to say, I can't remember if they can trace us to Epireus)

Xavier looks out over Robine as they leave wondering what happened to the his friends.

Xavier will follow Galder.

Azarl jerks and weaves his ship about, avoiding turbolasers as best as he can. Once Galder and Xavier get their payloads off, Azarl flies clear and gets ready to jump to hyperspace. He stays quiet on the comms as they pull away from the planet.

Following you home is only an issue if they pursue.

However, it seems we're not done yet. Time for you to make the run out the gravity well to hyperspace... but remember what we were saying earlier about the Bureau not using fighter craft? Well, it's not your day for new things. Your sensors are picking up incoming craft about to drop out of hyperspace at this location.

This leaves you with a conundrum- put all power to engines and dash like crazy to clear the gravity well, or put power in shields to tough out a shooting match? Much depends on the skill of the enemy pilots- they'd have to be very good to assess the situation, turn around and give chase moments after dropping out of hyperspace.

Pilots may decide individually.

Galder reports his findings over the comms.

"I say we scram," Galder says. "We're not exactly in a position to put up a fight."

It's not so much a fight as weathering the fire with option B- if they DO catch you with no power in shields, it could be nasty. Escaping is slower with shields powered but safer if they catch you.

Did Xavier end up using one point in Guidance for the run?

Could he choose option 1 while putting a point into Guidance to evade if we do get attacked?

Nope, no need for the Guidance.

It won't just be one roll if you get attacked so you have to judge that yourself.

Even we are just running Gallador on the turrets could return fire while we run right?

Yup.

Alright Xavier's ship is turning shields on and preparing to scram.

"Gallador we have incoming if they engage you'll have to find them off!" Xavier relays over the comms.

Also I forgot I spent on a point Dream(You said you still owe me that Ush 😛) And I spent two force points not to blow up Relle so I should have two left over. I will of course use them with Guidance should I need to avoid getting blown up 😛

So you are doing the slower but sturdier option, yes?

Yup I figure that plays to The New Beginning's strength better.

Would Relle and Eller be able to get on turrets as well?

Galder and Xavier should choose the same option, I feel...

Just so you know the disadvantage of option B- it means if they are NOT good pilots, they'll have time to catch you. If they aren't good pilots and you go for speed, you'll get away clean.

So what do you guys think the odds of them being bad pilots will be?

Galder will take option B, not wanting to let Xavier take the brunt of a possible firefight when he clearly flies the slower vessel. He keeps the shields powered and prepares for further conflict.

"We're not out of this yet..." Galder mutters.

Just to make sure, Relle can't use the New Beginning's guns without Pilot or Heavy Weapons? Maybe something to invest in later just for handiness.

If not she's sitting tight and watching Xavier fly.
