Edna- you are awake. You wish you weren't.
You are suffering from a vicious migraine that pulses and beats inside your head. You've been having little headaches lately- you think you are taking a while to adjust to the atmosphere of this world. It's a high-pressure world; Epireus base is up a mountain where the atmosphere is more suitable but even so; there's something about this place that your biology is taking time to adjust to. You've not dared been down the mountain to the surrounding jungle yet, where the Epirean tribes dwell.
Boredom is gnawing at you also. Problem is, there's not much to do here. Days just go by- safe... but pointless. Every plan these people have is so slow, and you just have to wait and wait.
For someone reason your headache is much worse this morning, though your vision is perfectly clear. You want to sleep more, but an irritating rattling sound from one of the nearby quarters makes it impossible.
1... 2... 3... 4... 5... the digits on the clock by your bed tick past, and suddenly a series of memories race into your head. The bomb! The intruders! Ahhh! Your headache suddenly clears. Though that rattling still sounds loud in your head...
Several others of you are in the base. Rand is at the control room, where he can monitor the base systems and external transmissions. All was quiet. No sign of Adelmo, or those pirates, or even any pursuers from Selene. Transmission wise, you had been watching various comments on your assassination of the Emperor, which has made you guys outlaws-of-the-moment in the outer regions. But now everything is changing rapidly- you are picking up transmission traffic from ships far in the Outer Rim... ships receiving information from the outer sensor network. Bureau ships! They are mounting a search for targets in an outer area and their hyperspace course brings them your way! Uhoh! For now, you've forgotten all about Dak on maintenance.
Dak is checking out some faults that are showing on the fault checker. The thing with the fault checker is that it finds faults well enough, but if Doon had away of knowing how to fix them from the checker, he didn't leave an instruction manual around. It's also not portable; it is built into the central control panel so you keep having to call Rand. You've narrowed the problem down to the lighting controls- they've failed before- so you have been replacing parts. You've now run out of good parts, and are using second-hand spares. You've isolated the source of the problem and are just about to begin replacing the worn-out units. You can choose between the damaged circuit link that might not work properly or the wrong type of circuit link that might blow the system. You'd rather not blow the system- that could take forever to sort out, and it would be embarrassing to boot.
Relle is exercising, as she often does. The outer ring of the base makes a good running circuit- wide corridors and so on, though you understand there is a fault developing with the lighting system so you had best get done before dark. Your ears pick up the sounds of cutting work, and you shift course to get closer to the source. That brings you by the workshop- that'll be Azarl and Xavier working on their toys. They've been in the workshop all day. Smiling more, you run on by.
J7's head recites some ancient Sith linguistic off-shoot as you place it upon the workbench, Azarl. This deconstruction is a delicate process and it is taking forever because you don't have a micro-cutter available to use. Next to you, Xavier is putting together his ludicrous hover speeder using, you cannot help noticing, the base's one functional micro-cutter. As if he needs delicate work for that- it's a damn speeder! How much can go wrong? Trying to compare that to a droid's internal circuitry... this is rid8icuous. You need that cutter.
Xavier... he's looking at the cutter. You knew he was going to want it, which is why you started to use it first for the repuslor drive, the most intricate part of any hover-vehicle's setup. Half of you wants to talk it over, whilst the other half thinks a sabre to his throat will stop this ever becoming an issue...
The rest of you are not on the base. Galder has been out talking with Firak, the tribal Epirean leader friendly to your rule. Many of your leading Epireans are still recovering from their injuries on Selene and you are worried about organised security. Gallador has been out and about in the jungles listening out for rumours about Ogros. Con has gone with him- though not always literally side by side- and Vic is there with them Con's lead. Con has been explaining to you who Ogros is- some local leader, apparently, who resists your rule. Smarter than his fellows, he always seems to plan carefully, so you guys are a little wary and want to make sure this search is done right. Rianna was out there killing randoms in the jungle for fun. So she said- actually, she's found the lack of contact in the jungle very handy for focussing on her developing force skills, but she's embarrassed to tell people that.
That's now changed. Firak, leader of the tribe nearest your base and very loyal to you, has met Galder with bad news. Ogros has attacked and annihilated one of his villages. Ogros has grown bold, but a strike makes him vulnerable. He's fled back into the jungle but he must be in the area, or at least a lot of his followers. This is a chance to pick up his trail, and no matter how dense the jungle is, it is not Force-proof. Galder sent word to Rand who quickly got the message out to the others using the base's more powerful comms transmitter, and you have all met up at one of Firak's forward villages. You are organising as fast as you can, but it will take some more hours to get your forces ready to go on a jungle trek. The plan is to pursue him hard and take him down, but it will be easy to lose track of people in the jungle. You will have more men than him but if he runs it could be hard to track. You've just decided it would be best to send Rianna back to get more men to help search the jungle once Ogros is cornered, or maybe after the fight to help find him. Rianna objects as she wants to fight, but, Galder, the simple fact is that she is the fastest on foot. She's the best chance of getting additional forces here on time. You should convince her to go.
And so we begin... again. Just play on as you feel appropriate, and we shall see how things unfold. The difference can be with Edna, who can panic now.
Right well I will be shouting at him over the comm then until he listens to me.
"I had a dream, no not a dream, a premonition like I've lived and died this day before. We all died, every one of us. Bounty hunters have been sent to kill us. They may already be here, I can't be sure. But we can't risk it. The bomb will take out the entire mountain.
Get Dak down to the reactor to check it out immediately. Shut off the ventilation - someone's poisoned the air supply. And shut down the external sensors - that's how they got in. And contact Galder, tell him Ogros has set a trap. He's got outside help with droidekas and everything. They're walking into a trap. And tell Rianna to watch out for the sniper BEFORE she heads up the mountain."
Edna is about to run down to the elevator to head to the reactor and runs to Eller's room instead. "Come with me - they may already be here. We either stop the bomb or get the hell out of here!".
Hmm, regarding missing a turn in the fight, Ush, you mentioned you are pausing the battle situation.... but I do not think it matters now.
I will have Manifest Destiny by PM, and as mentioned before I spend a point on Temptation.
Does the Ogros-hunt party receive a warning before going into the jungle?
