USH'S STAR WARS GAME- CAMPAIGN II EPISODE VI (DARK SIDE)- Enemy

Rand is sleeping and he will be at the top of the path in the morning.

"Edana received an extremely detailed vision in which a team of well-equipped bounty hunters attacked our base. They separated us all and gassed the base, then attacked us each individually as a distraction before detonating a bomb in the base's volcanic center.

"The real attack begins tomorrow morning. We are preparing for them currently. But I want to know who they are and why someone would attack us, let alone who could afford half a dozen bounty hunters..."

"How dramatic!" says Ascar. "You raise a very obvious very pertinent question- who could possibly be responsible? Sounds like a very Jedi sort of case- who wuld both want to do such a thing and also be able to? Both questions have their complications, I suppose. 'Wanting it' is not just about having a reason to dislike you, though that helps. Something you are doing, or have done- but it must also be the sort of person who would try to remove you in such a way. As for being able... they would have to be able to hire skilled killers and know where you live. There can't be that many people that fit all that."

Xavier will have gotten some sleep and wants to work on getting the signals strengthened to help keep them from jamming us, as well as make it harder for them to hack the system from the control room.

"Yeah we only know of two influential enough people alive who could do this. you, and the Lady," Xavier replies before adding.

"And maybe whoever owned this base before."

Working on the signals means not sleeping, I think.

"Lady Adelmo, while we have slighted here, probably would not gain much from simply rubbing us out," Rand says. "She still needs us, for now. Nor does she have the funds for a team of bounty hunters.

"YOU may have such funds, but no reason to kill us. You have allied with us for the time being.

"And Doon is dead."

"Doon is very dead," says Ascar, "and other than me not actually being the sort who knows where to hire deadly bounty hunters, this is not my style. If I wanted to kill you, I'd never have shown my face to you in the first place- a ridiculous risk- and I'd just leak your location to the Bureau. Much neater.

"Why does Adelmo have to gain anything? No offence but your...'kind' have been known to do destructive things that are not entirely rational... oh, and Adelmo has all the money she'll ever need. Also the ability to influence someone else who would have the money."

"No offense taken," Rand says with a sigh. "And that is true... so you believe this would be Adelmo's doing. I DO sense that my ability to see ahead is being opposed... only Edana's raw talents were able to foretell this impending strike."

"Well, it would fit," says Ascar. "I certainly would not rule her out. She was indeed in quite a temper when she left."

"I am sure we will find out when the bounty hunters arrive. I intend to get the truth of it from them, once they are defeated."

(Btw, can Rand identify any of them based off of their descriptions?)

Sadly no- Edna didn't get a good enough look. Mind you, it's pretty trivial.

"Well, assuming it goes well," says Ascar. "What would you do about it if it was Adelmo?"

"I am not certain," Rand states. "We are not yet powerful enough to oppose her, not having learned your method for thwarting her yet. Nor do we know where she goes when she is not making her delightful visits."

"You;d certainly be in trouble," says Ascar. "She would just try again, probably harder next time., How long before she tells the Jedi?"

"Would she do that?" Rand queries. "We certainly couldn't allow that. Everything we've worked to gain would be forfeit. We couldn't stay here."

"Why wouldn't she do it, if she wanted rid of you?

"Do you have any other suspects?"

"I do not," Rand admits.

"Seems you have a lot to think about then!" says Ascar.

"So it seems," Rand says. "We need to know how to connect as you did, before we can truly take her on and hope to win. She is too powerful for us to simply try it the old fashioned way that we're so accustomed to."

"I believe that Eller's Joy presence makes the attack being organized by Adelmo less likely and Adelmo needs us even more with Kara Katai being captured, she does not have any more Zaari, right?"

"There were rumors about the Sith resurfacing, perhaps they are behind this? Maybe they want Syphar N Kalar for themselves.

Even Kuylen may be a suspect, potentially".

"If he's alive," Rand snarls.

"As it happens," says Ascar, "that relates to why I called. I have some news for you about Kuylen that may interest you."

"Oh? What have you heard?" Rand asks.
