Minato vs Itachi

Minato is WAYYYY too fast.
He'll be behind Itachi before their eyes connect to do Izanami.

Itachi performed Izanami while Kabuto's eyes were shut.

And his body might not be as fast, but his sharingan can still trace the movements, enough for a Susanoo to pop up before the kill.

Not to mention the popular belief these days is that Minato has enough on his plate filling Itachi's.

Guys, seriously, Minato wins now because of his Bijuu Mode.
As he has the other half of Kurama's chakra, he has the same speed of current Naruto, maybe even more.
He can do Tailed Beast Bombs, powerful Rasengans, maybe even Rasenshurikens.
Don't know if Kurama could dispell a genjustu if Naruto gets trapped in one, as he is another mind, I think he could.
Minato has also Kurama inside, so he can' be affected by genjustu.
Tsukuyomi, Izanami or any other genjustu won't work on current Minato, he has only Amaterasu and Susano'o as offensive and defensive.
Minato is too fast he won't get trapped by Amaterasu, and if he gets caught, it would be probably a clone, and by the time Itachi makes Susano'o appear, Minato should have already put a seal on him, and while Itachi is inside Susano'o, Minato teleports next to him and kills him with Rasengan.

Yeah, and it took prep. It also takes a shared sense or something iirc. There has to be some interaction between the two to create the loop. By the time the interaction occured, Itachi would be dead, assuming we are not talking about edo Itachi.

Traceing movements and doing something about are two different things, Just ask Sasuke when rock lee pwned him. I would expect a similar situation between Minato and Itachi, except, more instant death for Itachi

Well, Itachi is screwed, current Minato is the fastest in Narutoverse.

Other than picking the right time, what prep? Itachi performed it fairly early in the fight iirc.

He's got the reaction time to react to lightning. Susanoo would pop before the insta-kill. Not to mention the genjutsu nonsense he's going to have Minato go through.

That's not a good example to be honest. Sasuke had a beginner sharingan, which though did provide some basic movement tracing like it did against Haku, was vastly overshadowed when he got his full power sharingan that let him not only react to Feral Naruto, but anticipate his movements. He did the same to Raikage. No reason Itachi who is superior in his sharingan not to be able to trace and react if only to pop Susanoo.

He did not react to lightning. Kirin comes in the form of a dragon. There is a delay. He knew it was coming. Minato has no delay. It's instant.

well that's true i guess. Sasuke did announce it was coming and all. But still, Susanoo wasn't activated when Sasuke dropped it. He activated it sometime after it was called down.

And its only instant if Minato gets a seal on him, which yes, means Itachi is going to get his head sliced off.

The thing is we don't know if he was in the process af activating or not. All we know is that he saw the dragon, then it cues his face, and then susano'o iirc.

Yea, Minato's Hiraishin is instant.
He would be able to get to Itachi before Susano'o appears.
And genjustu is worthless here, Minato just teleports infront of Itachi and pokes his eye's with his Kunai

If there was no aura, no bones, ir anything of the sort, it can't be said that Itachi was maybe sorta probably activating it. Its best to go by what was on panel. And what it showed was Sasuke dropping Kirin, Itachi, then the enormous bolt of lightning.

Not to mention, Itachi only had one eye open when we last saw him after the bolt had already been sent towards him. Susano'o likely needs both eyes to be open in order to activate it.
