Ares (Wrath of the Titans) vs. Darth Vader (ROTS)

Without stabbing him and choking him he'd never have been able to best him. On top of that Ares toyed with him much the same way Maul toyed with Obi. He had him beat. Anakin would charge into battle because he's arrogant and die. That's in character. Your argument is powerset only. You really want to take the character out of the battle. I am still not convinced force choking would do anything to Ares since he's so powerful without a blade in his chest. Ares wins.

Wow, either not reading or just can't grasp.

Try to some objectively for once, CIS is turned off in these matches unless otherwise stated, so if you're insisting Vader be his arrogant self and charge, then apply the same rules to Ares (ie be objective for once), as he was just as arrogant and angry in his "look at me, I'm the god of war" attitude.

So they both go in head first as per their arrogant/anger personalities; Vader wins easily, as noted, he's faster, more agile and has battle precog.

Ares only wanted to kill Perseus in front of his son due to their relationship with Zeus. Ares wouldn't bring the same attitude to Vader. Ares has a much higher damage soak, durability. Far more gifted in combat. He damaged much higher beings than the weaklings Vader beat. Ares mows him down. You just pick who you like more. Everyone else says you're wrong. You are so used to being wrong you can't even remember the last time you were right.

LoL, did you not pay attention their first fight? Ares walked head-first (just as in his second fight) into battle, he's arrogant and overconfident of his powers, just as Vader is. Still trying to gimp and make Vader play by your own set of rules while giving Ares free reign.

Ares' damage-soak won't mean shit when cut into pieces by a lightsabre. He can take a lot of blunt-force trauma, pay attention.

The faster, more agile and battle precog guy wins; first hit wins here from either guy, Vader gets that easy. . First it was Immortals, how you've gone balls deep for Wrath of The Titans. "Look, shiny!"

I agree with Rob by virtue of Quan always being wrong.

Vader wins.

The difference is Ares never lost a fight. Vader got waxed by Dooku twice in aotc. Ares won't get hit by Vader. I also think he can tank the lightsaber attacks to begin with. Precog yeah it worked wonders when he ran at Dooku and when he lept at Obi. It's so amazing. Ares slaughters him. He lives for combat. Vader lives to cry and *****.

Ares never lost a fight, really now. Except for the one where Perseus choked him out and then stabbed him to death. That was a key part of the film, didn't you notice?

I'm glad you think Ares can 'tank lightsabre attacks', considering Ares didn't show any sort of invulnerability; just a high resistance to blunt-force trauma, this is another fantasy of yours.

Just because you can't comprehend Jedi/Sith battle-precog, doesn't mean it's worthless. Vader never fought Dooku, Padawan Anakin did and then later as a Jedi Knight. BIG difference in power-levels there, pal. Not paying attention as usual.

Code for something?

How fast is Ares?

Human speeds.

Well my original idea was if Ares just landed on Vaders head or within 10 meters.

And if he missed, jump up into the sky and do it again. 💃

In a initial melee battle Ares will have a hard time against the force pushes and the light sabre. But he can always jump. And apparently bloody high.

His damage resistance is through the roof!!! He lands from orbit at those speeds and lands like he just jumped 2 meters!!! Huge durability. Arguably better than a Hulk.
Perseus' conflict with the man isn't the best example in comparison to how crap the movie was. He was a demo-god who choked him out after being stabbed with a Godly weapon....good on him. 😄

Point is Ares can jump and land with such power that would shatter a Jedi/Sith. And has the durability that has withstood more than an old man Vader choked out.

Landing on Vader? When the guy has both battle precog and super senses due to the Force. Nah.

Ares was never in orbit; we could see him flying in the air. He flew from Hades (underground) through the air and then landed/slammed into the ground.

That air-blast when he landed sent a few people back with little to no damage, it's not putting Vader down at all. Even the weak-ass 120lbs priestess was fine a few seconds after Ares landed.

The Force can be used to exert tons of force, if Perseus could choke out Ares, Vader can choke him out with the Force. Vader doesn't need to though, his abilities, speed and agility combined with a lightsabre is enough.

How physically strong is Perseus?

Very strong, but probably not over a 1 toner, if so, doubtful he's over 2.

He was able to hold down a Chimera (about the size of a very large bull) with a chain for a few moments using his arms and legs. Also stopped a large stone wall from closing with the help of another demi-god. His strength seemed to very from time to time though.

This sort of reminds me of Immortals, where ****ing Poseidon gets like one good feat and then the immortals suck for the rest of the movie.

Immortals were better. They had speed feats.
I may also go as far as say Immortals was a better film. Why can't hollywood make good fantasy action films?

You know I just realised this is Anakin not Vader? Yeah Anakin had those super speed feats from Episode 1. Did he ever use them again after that one occasion?

He also stopped that Giant's hand.

Ares lost after he screwed around in the same vein Maul lost. In the same vein Voldemort lost to Harry Potter. The hero had to win but that doesn't mean Harry is better in a forum thread. Try and be objective.

Lightsabers failed to destroy steel railings in the original three. You're so hypocritical it's almost sad.

Yeah, I remember Obi saying don't you dare jump Anny I have the higher ground. Anny sure didn't seem to listen did he ? You're awful at debating.

Ares wins.

Most feats like this don't mean jacks-i- when it comes to combat. I've tried telling you this for years now.

Yes they do, only a dumbass believes otherwise.

You're the same guy who thinks being able to destroy islands and mountains by punching them are not relevant to combat.

You're an idiot, please don't speak to me.

I believe most writers ignore this when these foes clash. You live in a nerdy world with your calculator out while the writers themselves don't factor this in making you a colossal idiot.

Don't worry I'd never really talk to you. You're one of those nerds out there who can't get a date. I'd only ever communicate someone as dorky as yourself on a message board such as this.

'Steel'? You think they still use steel in star wars? In a space-age setting?
