LOL this guy, almost three different generations of kids grow up with the Turtles cartoon (old and new), i wouldnt even suprised if this movie destroy GoTG in August in box office performance.

Can i ask what makes you so damn sure this new turtles movie will destroy the Gotg movie at the box office?

I think Turtles definitely has the advantage with already being an established franchise. I can see Turtles taking the edge just because parents would be more inclined to take their kids to see Turtles over Guardians because they grew up with it.

Exactly. The turtles have been pretty much everywhere with a strong presence from the 80's up until now. Movies, tv shows, a constant toy line, merch, video games, AND comics as well.

Guardians has had comics, and like 2 tv cameos in the past year or so, both on shows aimed mainly at comics fans.

Turtles clearly has a much larger name in the mainstream, and Michael Bay movies despite what critics say tend to do insanely well at box office.

On the other hand, Guardians is a Marvel movie, and those blow up as well simply for having the MARVEL! brand.

Turtles may have the franchise advantage but seriously I personally think these new turtles will freak a lot of kids by the way their faces look. IMO they're more creepy than cute.

My 8 yr old son saw the trailer the other day & innocently commented that they look like his nephew.
Suffice to say, his nephew has Down Syndrome.

I'd be surprised if gotg actually flops in the U.S. and does great elsewhere.

WHAT??? WHAT??? People supporting a Bay film!!!!!

GOTG will do well. People will go watch anything Marvel studios puts out at this point, plus it's been marketed well. But considering it is a Complete Unknown even to some comic book readers, I'd be seriously surprised if it surpasses $500mill WW. Seriously surprised!

If it does pass those kind of figures then it would have to be one seriously frigging great movie.

But assuming Turtles and GOTG are similar in quality, then yeah I'd give Turtles the definite box office advantage.

That's a big 'if' in regards to the Turtles with it being produced by Micheal Bay's company.

this is apparently controversial and disrespectful to those who died... more than ten years ago.

😐

people need to get a grip on their goddamn lives.

also, i thought the release date was the 8th.

oh, that's the Aussie release date.

The screenwriters for this wrote Alias (which I admittedly enjoyed), a bunch of failed ABC dramas, MI: GP, Killing Season, Snow White and the Huntsman, and Divergent.

I forgot to add ....that on the pic I posted , if you look on the left you see grape and orange crush soda boxes

why is that noteworthy?

because bay tries to add "hip" elements to his movies when he is absolutely clueless how to do it properly without it looking absolutely stupid and racist.
look at the design of how the turtles look. full of bunch of cliche's.

Bay:" you know what would be hilarious and cool, if the turtles are "twerking" in an elevator"

Lets not forget abou these guys

What wrong with Leo's right foot? Does he have some kind of gigantism issue? As for Abril (not April), it doesn't even look like she's looking at Splinter but over his head. More garbage brought to you by Michael Bay.

1. nothing racist about orange and grape soda; that's your ignorance at work.

2. are you suggesting the the turtles are black?

3. The turtles eat pizza and such in the old movies too.

Its clear as day as day that bay uses crude caricatures/stereotypes in his movies. You have to be trolling if you fail to see this cause i dont think anyone is that dumb.
What do you think the inspiration was for the 2 hip "token" robots in transformers?
Of coarse children wont look at it this way they will just like the mindless "fun" and wackyness of this movie.

Do these kinds of designs and stereotypes appeal to anyone besides kids and tweens?
