Well hopefully Kinberg is just talking s**t. Would be pretty sad for Fox to purposefully keep losing money just out of Marvel spite.

They will keep doing this till Disney/Marvel is ready to pay a highly, extremely exorbitant sum that would bring back the entire budget of every ff movie and more. That's the only logic I can see with this, however crazy it is

Kinberg must really be out of his mind. Who's gonna be in a rush to be a sequel to the last F4? After two box office disappointments there is no way for Fox to make money off that franchise. Hell the F4 brand was so hurt by the last film that even Marvel themselves may have trouble making a successful film now. The general movie going audience doesn't pay attention to what studios owns which super-hero. They'll just think "oh those Fantastic Four movies all sucked, this one probably will too."

I'd still like Marvel to get the characters back, if not only so they can show up in other movies, but so Doom can be finally appear in the MCU. He's the main thing I feel that's missing from those.

Nah. I still think if Marvel got the rights back they'd make a killer FF movie. They GET their comics. Other studios don't. Look how awesome Spidey turned out in CW. Now everyone (even people that were burned out on Spidey) want to see Homecoming.

My dream as a Doom fan is the day that it's announced Fox has given the rights back to Marvel. Clearly they don't know what to do with it.

Same. Getting Doom back would be one of the best things to happen to the Avengers franchise. He would make an amazing villain for the team.

Also knowing we have Galactus and SS in our future would be euphoric.

I don't doubt that Marvel can make a good F4 movie. But what I was getting it was like I said, people aren't gonna be so eager to see another F4 movie because of the last one.

The advantage Marvel does have though (other than the obvious fact that they're not Fox so online fans would at least give them a chance) is they can repair the damage by re-introducing the F4 slowly in other MCU films like they did with Spider-man in Civil War. If Marvel and Sony had simply made a new Spider-man film, people would most likely be skeptical. Most of the general public don't understand the details like we do, so they'd just see there's a new Spider-man and say: "I don't know. The last one wasn't very good."

And Doom is also pretty much the reason I want Marvel to get the rights back. As he's not just a big foe to the F4, but the MU in general. He's the main thing I feel that's missing from the MCU.

I want Marvel to get the rights back but not make a FF film.

So you're only interested in the FF related characters.

Well those related characters came about from the great stories the FF comics gave us. So I don't like the idea of "screw the FF, let's just take their villains," just because Fox has made everyone hate the FF.

The FF have an awesome Rogues gallery (Doom, Galactus, Annihilus, Skrulls, Namor, Molecule Man). If done justice, I believe they would be one of the best MCU franchises ever. Just make it have the same feel as The Incredible with more exploration and science mixed in. Reed Richards is also in my top ten comic characters of all time. He would be perfect in the MCU. The dudes the smartest character in comics with no equal, so seeing his scenes with Stark and Banner would be cool too.

We NEED an FF MCU series. You guys have no idea what we are missing out on.

I agree with what you guys are saying.
What im saying is that it would not be smart to make another FF movie so soon. If Marvel gets the rights back they should use characters from the FF fox deal in phase 3. They could use Surfer and Galactus in Guardians and Infinity movies.
Then in phase 4 they can think about introducing Doom , Skrulls, the Shi'ar ,etc.
Then maybe do a stand alone FF movie during the mid to end of phase 4.
That's what in saying. I don't think it's a smart move to jump into a FF movie right away after the rights come back.
The way I'm saying , will give the franchise enough time to get the bad taste out of peoples moths after all the damage fox as done to it.

Well unless someone at Fox is finally tired of the franchise or Disney is willing to pay an amount that Fox can't refuse, the FF don't have a really bright future. After all, Fox gets to keep them for another half decade thanks to Fan4stic.

Simon Kinberg on what he believes to be the failures of Fantastic Four

Yeah.....your one of them Simon.

lol

So they're gonna give it another try just to spite Marvel.

Btw the "tone" wasn't the problem. In fact they already tried the "fun " tone twice before, but they also sucked.

The problem is not making proper use of the Epic villains the FF has. Not just Dr.Doom and Galactus. There's Annihulus, Terrax, The Skrulls... Just so much, and all they can think of is "Let's have Dr.Doom get random powers and go insane" facepalm

The Doctor Doom actor reveals how little he was actually in the movie, and discusses a "darker" cut that'll never be seen.
