Dynasty Of Evil Darth Bane vs Prime Yoda

Just like the other thread only Dynasty of Evil, so no orbalisks. I haven't read Dynasty so could somebody fill me in on what bane does in it and hoe he compares to his former self with orbs?

Haven't read DoE. When I finish reading Revan, I think I'll start reading DoE.

Revan, Doe and the other TOR books will be the next I read. Just need to finish Truce of Bakura and replaiing Kotor 2.

Reading Revan after KOTOR 2 seems appropriate.

Yeah, Revan is bascally KotOR 3 as far as I see it, just as a novel isntead of game.

BTW I've been replaying \KOTOR 2 with the cut conten mods and the games so much AWESOME. Maybe better than kotor 1 now with the additional content imo..

Bane has an awesome lightsaber feat at the start of DoE where he stands in a howling storm and blocks every raindrop that comes near him. When we analysed that scene it made Bane out to be a legendarily good duelist. Yoda is also amazing, as seen in his fight with Sidious, but I still think Bane wins.

As for the Force I still believe that Yoda has nothing to threaten Bane with and its only a matter of time until Bane overwhelms him.

Don't get your hopes up. From what I've heard Revan really drops the ball in terms of quality and storytelling.

Yeah, at this point Bane wins. That feat at the beginning shows his ability after the 10 or 20 years after RoT.

Force Yoda could put up a fight. He could win, but it would be hard as hell.

Hmm hopefully that's not the case. Revan's one of my favorite characters and I decided to replay the games purely because of the novel.

Though I was looking through the wookepedia page and was sad to see that carth is the only party memberthat doesn;t even get mentioned in the bokd.

Iheard that the main characetrs form the games that appear in the book are obviously revan, and the jedi exile, bastilla and canderious though which is really cool as anderious is probably my favoirte character from the games. Do you know if he has a cool role in the book?

Revan does fail in terms of quality writing, at least as far as I'm in. So far it's been "Sourge's good but not great skills have saved his life once again" , "Revan kissed Bastila in the lips and said 'screw the Jedi Council, we love each other'".

It is by writer of Kotor, Mass Effect and Darth Bane series right?>

Yes, Drew Karpyshyn (SP?).

Although, it does provide a little bit of an insight to Revan's philosophy towards light and dark side.

Karpyshyn has done way more writing than I gave him credit for. I kind of like how he was pretty much given Bane, the Exile, and Revan then.

But of the books he's written, I think Revan is the worst in terms of quality writing. The storytelling's okay. And it does reveal everything taking place after KOTOR 2, so, I'd read it even if it was written by the shittiest author.

Revan seems like such a waste of a great premise. Revan

Spoiler:
runs off, gets his ass kicked, escapes, gets his ass kicked again and gets the Exile killed and then we fastforward to TOR. Thats all that happens. They might as well have just made one of those timeline video's on the swtor site.

I'll just be glad to see more of Canderous (though sadnly no HK-47 🙁)

Revan stands testament to Karpyshyn's enormous deficits as an author. The characters are, with the exception of Scourge, one-dimensional.

That's why I said Revan is Karpyshyn's worst book.

I, also, was gonna mention about Scourge. He is the only character, who's personality as well as emotional side during use of the Force was well described.
For example, Revan's combined use of light and dark left us clueless as emotional side of it was skipped entirely. And from all other books nature of Force depends on what emotions users draw on.

Isn't Sidious basically > any version of Bane, as per canon?

I would say that given how Yoda performed against a Sith Lord more powerful than Bane, he wins this fight.
