You're saying that a "general consensus" is right but at the same time the individual opinions of a poster here is irrelevant.
He knows he is wrong.

Quan, I ALREADY FEEL DIRTY admitting you have a point.

Don't. Quote. Me. Ever. Again. 😉

Does it touch IM1 for you?

Not quite

but i wouldn't say this third movie is bad at all, Also i was fine with the Mandarin twist

and before someone goes blah, blah, blah.. your not a Iron Man fan and clearly haven't seen the real Mandarin from the comics, I have seen him.

The twist was fine. I think the real issue was that The Mandarin had a better potential as the real villain than what Guy Pearce did.

The fear of terrorism, especially after an alien invasion would've had more impact...hell I can't even remember what Pearce's motives were?

Pretty sure profit was in there, Something about making money from war.

Hmm just like Tony in the 1st movie...

Except he changed

not sure what Aldrich Killian's end goal was besides the profit from War & Death. Seems to be using the Underwear Gnomes scheme.

Not really, Tony never started conflicts to make money.

Point I'm making is that we already dealt with the "profit from arms"-debate in 1 & 2....why make it a recurring theme in 3?

Because Tony is an american, they are all about guns.

I liked it until the twist.

IM 2 is still better imo.

I know a lot of people hated it because they thought Aldrich Killian was taking the label of The Mandarin. I didn't like the twist so much but to me when he said "I am the Mandarin" he was admitting to being the brain behind the attacks and not actually taking on the role of the Mandarin. So the Mandarin wasn't really in it and that was a let down but it didn't ruin the movie for me.

mandarin mandarin mandarin mandarin mandarin 😆

If you can't laugh at yourself lol

The twist was serviceable. But really Killian was just an ok villain. I would have preferred it immensely if they had played it straight with the Mandarin and had a really epic last movie. Especially since the Mandarin was pretty legit intimidating until the reveal imo. I would have loved to see him slug it out with Iron Man using cobbled together alien tech or something.

Fact is, they tried to be clever and subvert expectations when it was unnecessary to do so. Thematically it retrod already walked ground with the greedy corporate stuff and the whole "Tony's douchey past bites him in the ass" thing. It would have been stronger imo to show Tony crumbling in the face of the rising stakes of the post-Avengers world and see him force to step up to the next level to deal with supervillians being a thing now. His post-Avengers ptsd freakout was the best part of the movie and should have been the core of the movie.

The "twist" is getting very cliched.

Batman Begins.
TDKR
IM3

?

IMDB gives people the option to rate movies on a scale of 1 to 10.

And RT compiles the reviews of critics.

That's it. ticket sales have nothing to do with it.

Except the twist was different to Batman Begins & TDKR

instead of using this guy as the Mandarin, Who Ben Kingsley was and many people thought they were going to be using
http://www.comicvine.com/mandarin/4005-3530/

they switch him to that Aldrich Killian.

Thanks for filling us in Kaz.

Go to sleep.

I wouldn't even classify Iron man 3 as a twist just poor writing.

It was a disappointing twist.

I actually welcomed the twist.

Can anyone actually imagine a Mandarin with 10 rings fighting film Ironman in combat?

The film succeeded because it showed Stark defeating an Extremis army.
But it failed to comic fans because Ironman had so much room for improvement.
