Iron Man 3

You know while watching this movie again and having to deal with the stupid Mandarin-twist...again something just occurred to me. It the weird revelation that arguably the best Iron Man movie of the trilogy(Iron Man 1) came out before Disney bought the rights to Marvel. Though my opinion is subjective I just found that funny.

It's not arguable. That is the best IM movie by far, it's not even close. (Excluding Avengers that is).

Its subjective which means it is arguable. Put your arrogance away, please.

I enjoyed IM3 far, far more than IM2 and it's on par with IM1 imho.

I rewatched it tonight and I still think its ok. Its better than IM2 but I wouldn't say its on par with the first one. There are some fairly big issues with it imo but on the whole it just wasn't as fresh as IM1.

Arrogance? Are you crazy?

IM1's a classic. The only classic thing about IM3 was it being a Classic disappointment.

I guess it was for you

wasn't a "Classic disappointment" for me.

Does it touch IM1 for you?

Again subjective not objective learn the difference.

IM3 was superior to the second but didn't live up to the first film. It was still enjoyable but there should have been more Iron man in an Iron man film

Actually you should learn the difference.

General Audiences: IMDB IM1- 7.9
IM3- 7.4

Critics: Rotten Tomatoes IM1- 94%
IM3- 79%

So no, not as subjective as you'd like to think. But actually the majority opinion.

You could argue that me thinking IM3 sucked is a very subjective opinion. But the fact that IM1 > IM3 is pretty much a consensus.

Funny. I actually had trouble keeping my eyes open for IM3 on the big screen. Whether I was juz tired or the movie bored me, I don't remember.

I re-watched it again on dvd & realised I had slept through then entire end battle with the multiple Iron Men turning up.
Unfortunately it still felt that we'd seen it all already.

I didn't hate it but I didn't love it. I don't own it yet but I plan on buying it. I wasn't a fan of the Mandarin twist though. I thought the twist was a little open ended.

I liked it until the twist.

IM 2 is still better imo.

IM1 is my favorite superhero movie after The Dark Knight. I even like it more than The Avengers. It's an almost perfect film imo.

IM2 is inferior to the original, but still pretty good and worth your time. I like to think of it more as a screwball comedy than as a superhero movie, and if you approach it from that angle, you probably won't be disappointed. All of the enjoyment from IM2 comes from just listening to Tony Stark and company crack jokes and watch them go through their day to day lives.

IM3 was also good and worth your time, but is the weakest of the trilogy. The twist with the Mandarin had a lot of potential for satire on a number of different issues, but was wasted. It's just...there, mostly, in order to hide the effects of the Extremis virus.

IM3 is honestly one of my least favorite comic films to date.

The majority of the opinion isn't 100 percent of the opinion either. Just because a majority of people prefers something doesn't make said opinion a fact. Learn the definitions of words you choose to use.

I hate to admit it but Quan's kinda got a point.
You're saying that a "general consensus" is right but at the same time the individual opinions of a poster here is irrelevant.

Clearly it's not just my opinion that IM1 >>> IM3.

I'm just simply saying I don't know what sources IMDB & R/T uses to get those figures.

Is it based on ticket sales or do they actually do a survey & ask people which was better?

You can't judge how good a movie is based on ticket sales because marketing plays a major factor in that & I've never known or heard of anyone who's actually filled out a survey for IMDB or R/T.

However there's always a lot of outspoken critics with their opinions on message boards that some times go against R/T polls.
