H1, did you read the comic?

It's not 'interpretation'. It's how sentences are read.

If by "how sentences are read" you mean re-arranging entire sentences to fit your interpretation, then no thank you.

In all honestly, it's not that people view the feat differently but rather they are subtly trolling.

The rule here (and one of logic) is that a situation doesn't exist and never happened if it isn't based on common sense (like Peter Parker has a toilet in his house although it was never shown) or the writer didn't create it. There are many instances where Black holes did not make a character reach a destination faster and where they did the opposite.

In other words, saying that Superman used black holes as a means to get to one place faster is pure trolling since no where in that particular comic does it state or show that. The writer's intention wasn't that, otherwise he would have made his intentions clear. Creating reasons that don't exist is simply called making shit up. That is why Abhi is irritated. So no, OGD doesn't have a valid view at all. He
was just trolling.

agreed

and i know you missed me too! 😠

Hey bro.

Have only made a few posts, I doubt I'll get active as I was before, but I'll pop in and have fun occasionally.

👆 the more the merrier.

What made me think of posting again was a handful of days ago, I made a reply to someone on one of the many nerdy comic related facebook pages I follow. Kind of got me in the mood, I guess.

I wasn't as elaborate as I would be on here obviously, where I know people nitpick at stuff as I've been doing with these guys trying to help them learn, but, I'll show you.

Are people entertaining the idea that Surfer can't surpass light speed without entering hyperspace?

I never suggested it, I merely pointed out that's what whatshisname's own scans said, all of them, bio included, and they got all butthurt and were trying to twist up words and blame "Superman fans" and a lowballing and twisting the rules, and interpretation and whatever other repetitive tripe.

OK.

But anyway Surfer has gone past it before without entering hyperspace. Hell he's apparently went warp speed too with whatever speed that is.

whatshisname has a name, unless you cant read my username. MY scans and bio info clearly states, that hyperspace is ONLY available after surpassing lightspeed, to enter hyperspace surfer has to be FTL, he has to break the lightspeed barrier, by how much? i dont know, its not specified, all we know is that to enter hyperspace surfer needs to move faster than light, may be 3x or 4x or even 1000x faster than light.

Yeah. ..no. That's not what it says. Reading fail.

In most sci fi, warp speed and hyperspace, hyperdrive, whatever, are just stock descriptions to let the reader know we're about to break the laws of physics to get from point a to b.

Surfers bio he used, the scans, and even the Marvel description of hyperspace suggest greater than lightspeed travel is always hyperspace.

It doesn't really change anything, though. It's just nomenclature.

So... would you say Surfer can or can't go faster than light without going into hyperspace? Because I really don't get the issue unless you're saying he can't.

And galaxies were streaking by and Genis got lost somewhere in space when Surfer went warp speed. And warp speed has always been used as an actual faster than light speed in any media. It's an actual speed that functions the same way.

I thought he was arguing about the scans/bio/link the guy posted instead of Surfer's history as a whole.

shrug

Merely the opinion of one person on the internet, that is contradicted by the on panel evidence.

Have you ever heard the term "word of god"?

It refers to an author's statement about a work they've created. It is generally treated as being the final authority on said work.

The dude wrote the comic. He is the final authority on it.

And really, the art isn't THAT contradictory, if at all.

Writer said it was the sun, it was the sun. He wrote it as the sun. He intended it to be the sun when he wrote it. I don't see what else is needed, tbh.

This is why you're a clown and nobody takes you seriously. HE WROTE THE DAMN COMIC... HE INTENDED IT TO BE THE SUN, THUS IT'S THE DAMN SUN. jesus

It looks like the sun in the scan. Boardwalker is just messing with you all and you are falling for it.

hmm Perhaps you're just an act and there's hope for you yet.

Clearly you're the one who lacks reading skills. what part of EXCEEDING dont you get? exceeding means surpassing, being greater than, to go beyond. Exceeding lightspeed to enter hyperspace, to go beyond lightspeed and to surpass lightspeed to enter hyperspace.
