It will be a lengthy trek over the slippery stone field beyond your landing point... but really, what else do you have to do?
"Sounds better than sticking around here waiting for something to happen," Vash says, starting off toward the forest.
Nothing happens as you cross the stone field, aside from a few slips and trips among the eroded, damp rocks. It on the edge of the forest that you start to feel uneasy.
In you go! Vash follows you, not wanting to be shown up by a girl.
The forest here is low, in the sense that the trees are short and clustered together, with drooping branches and long, damp leaves. It feels like a light mist is dripping through the canopy, even though it isn't raining; it's coming from the trees.
Things are stirring in the brush, here and there. Scattering in response to your presence.
Into the forest, of course!
The high humidity within is enough to make you want to walk right back the way you came. Which is odd, because this is definitely not a rain forest. It must be the generally humidity of Dontos and the thick canopy above you.
You also notice that most of the trees lean at odd angles, some of their roots breaking free of the soil.
All of them are dripping with water.
"Weird," Vash comments.
