Here's an analogy : when you light your hands on fire, most likely to happen is you get a 3rd degree burn; the fire well engulf/flood and enter the cells in your hand but does that make your hand stronger? hell no! This in a way is similar to the surfer feat; the cells is flooded with CE energy but thats about it, the cells did not absorb the energy because it does not function that way..
