Play through Trespasser ASAP. Solas, Solas, Solas means badass, badass, badass. After you play through it you'll know what I mean.

I'm nearing the end of vanilla Inquisition, should be starting Trespasser within the next day or two. I'm excited as I hear nothing but good things about Trespasser.

Unfortunately, it seems that the masses prefer open world games than linear RPG's that Bioware is known for.

I agree on pretty much all points because that's what I felt after playing the game. But I will say that 80% of the areas are very diverse and extremely well made in terms of geometry and art design. The first Dragon Age had pretty open areas and it worked fine. It's just that most of it was filled with interesting side missions and lore instead of DA:I.

I loved Witcher 3 but when I look back, I still think I prefer the first Dragon Age. I was never invested in the "Witchers" universe as I am in Dragon Age and while the side missions were generally pretty fantastic, the main missions didn't have the same oomph as Dragon Age. Bioware knows how to get you invested in a story while I never got that feeling in Witcher. There was never a mission where I was like "HOLY ****".

In the end, Dragon Age is about the stories and lore and Witcher 3 was about being in the universe.

To be honest I think Origins is overrated. It's a good game but I never found it all that interesting and I wasn't as invested in it or the characters as I was during Inquisition. I think it has a pretty weak cast in comparison to Inquisition and Witcher 3, only Morrigan and Alistair really stand out, and Leliana is alright. I also think the combat is boring and the game starts to feel kinda like a slog to me. It handles choices better than Inquisition, but I struggle to really think of a way that the Witcher 3 doesn't trump it pretty substantially. I was a lot more invested in Witcher 3's story and world than Origins. It's all just preference, of course.

Fair enough.

For me, Witcher 3 near the end of the main mission structure played it too easy for me. I was constantly being told that something I needed was held by this dude and then when I get there, that dude tells me it's being held by some other dude. Considering some of the side missions were absolutely fantastic, it was a bummer.

Origins was my favorite game of all time. I went from hating Loghain to him becoming an obsession when I didn't kill him the second time through. Inquisition has given my two great characters though in Corypheus and Solas.

I bought Witcher 3 but haven't tried to play through it yet. That will happen over the summer. Witcher 2 suffered the same thing. I tried to get into it and failed. I picked it up years later and loved it. I know I will love Witcher 3 but didn't play it long enough for obsession to take place.

Oh yeah, forgot about Loghain, he's another one of the best parts of that game. The nuances of that character is extremely impressive.

Witcher 3 really sunk its claws in me in a way few games have. I think the game is one of the great triumphs in world building in video game history.

Smas, yeah Witcher 3 isn't a perfect game. It does kinda drag on near the end, coulda stood to be a bit shorter, probably. But I think it's extremely impressive in so many other ways that I thought it was a very minor problem.

I agree. I haven't played Fallout 4 yet but Witcher 3 is currently the best game so far this year. I enjoyed it immensely. And I agree that it's up there with GTA and Red Dead Redemption on world building. It's fantastic.

But you know some things that kind of get on your nerves after awhile? It was one of those things. I felt the same thing when finishing up Assassins Creed Syndicate and their love for having kidnap missions.....

Loghain was amazing. In Witcher 2 I didn't find any characters who came close to Loghain, Corypheus, or Solas fascination to me but I hope Witcher 3 does a better job. Witcher verse is awesome and I like the differences between Dragon Age I just find Dragon Age to be more to my liking.

Witcher 3 has some incredible characters. The Bloody Baron stands out the most, probably. He's different from Loghain or the others you mention, though. But man does his arc make an impression.

I just hope one or two of them are my cup of tea.

Yeah, The Bloody Baron is probably the best in the game. He is absolutely fantastic and probably one of the best characters in any RPG.

But the rest of them are kind of meh. I hate Dandelion.

Oh wait, Keira is pretty solid and I did enjoy the Skellige group of peeps.

Name your top five characters from the dragon age universe.

1. Morrigan
2. Sandal
3. Shale
4. Flemeth
5. Pretty much all Dragon Age Inquistion companions.

Interesting list. Mine is completely different.

I started Trespasser. So far it's excellent. Can't wait to see how it ends.

Finished Trespasser, spoilers below. Really good piece of DLC and a good example of what I was mentioned earlier about how Bioware's at their best when the content is fairly linear, it allows them to focus on the things that matter, rather than simply making nice looking environments that are ultimately pretty empty. It's really the Epilogue that makes Inquisition feel truly complete.

Definitely the Citadel for DA:I. Very nice sendoff for all these characters, but also did a great job of setting up the next game(s). They really have done an incredible job with Solas. Being both sympathetic, kind and fairly monstrous. He should make an excellent villain over the next few games.

Also pretty cool that Trespasser pretty much confirms that the next game will take place in Tevinter. Really excited to explore that area of the world, and also excited as that means that there's a decent chance that Dorian will return as a companion.

I'm also really interested in how they'll use the Inquisitor in the next game. I doubt he's going to be the player character, but I can totally see him being a Captain Anderson, mentor type character from here on out. Which means that the next player character may be a sort of Shepard type character, most likely someone the Inquisitor recruits to battle Solas who becomes increasingly important. I can also see these events being important enough to warrant the new couple games maybe starring the same group of characters, like the Mass Efffect series, as I don't see us just going and beating Solas in the span of one game. I think it'd be really cool if this Solas arc lasted multiple games, with the character we make in the next game being the main character that we play as in the next 2 or 3. I dunno, really interesting possibilities with this series now. Really excited to see where they go.

I for one think
Spoiler:
that Solas might not be the big bad and that the Evanuris might come strolling back. It'll be an uneasy alliance with Solas maybe understanding he can't bring back the days of old or perhaps fighting him along the way. Choices in a dragon age game and all. Either way Solas was amazing and when you finally see him at the end you're like holy ****. He's quite the badass.

That's an interesting idea, and definitely could be possible. I have a feeling even Bioware isn't even 100% sure where they're going with the story right now. I can't wait to find out, though.

Did you shot bricks when he
Spoiler:
turned the female qunari to stone ? We already saw what he did to her whole regiment. Solas, and he was amidst us this entire time.

I also hope we get to have a rogue darkspawn in our party. Maybe even one of the Tevinter magisters who released the blight to later reject his ways.

Lol, that part was pretty funny. "Oh this Qunari here's the big baddy of this dlc." Solas is just "lol that's cute".

Rogue darkspawn would be pretty killer.

I loved the explanation as to how Corypheus got his hands on Solas' orb. It made perfect sense but that lovable Corypheus is something special as well.
