Minato, Hiruzen, and several others have gone through such moments where they are fighting someone who caused the death of a love one. In Hiruzen's case, it was all the people Orochimaru killed and in Minato's case, it was Kushina's death(which admittedly hadn't happened yet but was going to happen). Both of them acted smarter than A. Hell, Sasuke is cock in his hand insane and acts smarter than A.
