Chloe Moretz responds to Jim Carry's stance

"It's a movie. If you are going to believe and be affected by an action film, you shouldn't go to see 'Pocahontas' because you are going to think you are a Disney princess,"

"If you are that easily swayed, you might see 'The Silence of the Lambs' and think you are a serial killer. It's a movie and it's fake, and I've known that since I was a kid ... I don't want to run around trying to kill people and cuss. If anything, these movies teach you what not to do."

Kick-Ass 2 has nothing interesting to say, except — perhaps — around its outermost and glossed over edges

That's deep.
Pretty pointless but deep.

I just saw this tonight. Wow. I really wanted my money back. And I saw it for free.

First and foremost, I want to be entertained. I wasn't. Just something about kids beating up kids that really bothers me.

I assume you saw the 1st so what did you really expect to happen in the 2nd?

I just seen Leonard Maltin's review for this and he didn't like it.....no surprise there.

This movies' getting pretty bad reviews. I didnt expect it to live up to the first one anyway.

From memory the 1st movie didn't actually get rave reviews either.
The combination of gratuitous violence & no one understanding Cage's quirky acting was lost on the mainstream public.

this is on the same pace the first one is on

I remember with the first one when it got released here....Richard wilkins was pretty much condemning the movie.

Wilkins is an idiot.
I remember when he broke the news on tv that Jeff Gold died in a ski accident before having the facts confirmed.

Goldblum.

I saw this movie yesterday night. Phucking sucked. Tone, pacing, and characterization were all over the place, and the plot had the substance and stability of wet tissue paper. A barely entertaining and vastly inferior sequel to the original IMO. There was some funny stuff ("Call me The Motherphucker"😉 and Mother Russia was kinda cool, but the good didn't outweigh the bad in this case. Jim Carrey, John Leguizamo, and Donald Faison are horribly wasted, and are pretty much walking extended cameos. All I know is that I wasted a perfect opportunity to see Elysium to see KA2, and it really wasn't worth it. 🙁

I give KA2 6/10 (at best) for it's occasional witty humor and a few roughly decent action sequences, but all in all a rather bland and lame film experience that only just barely captures a glimpse of the greatness of the first one. I can't recommend seeing it unless you've seen EVERYTHING in theaters now up to and including Grown Ups 2

Did they kill off Jim Carry's character early?,

Around maybe the half-way point, if not beforehand. He was pretty much the cliff notes version of Big Daddy and an extended Jim Carrey cameo. A complete waste.

One scene that was particularly jarring to me, but didn't seem to bother anybody else, is the scene where Red Mist and his gang raid the house of Night Bytch, KA's ally. He outright attempts to rape her, but he can't remain erect, and his erectile dysfunction is supposed to be some kind of hilarious joke. In the middle of an attempted rape scene 😐 . Again, maybe I'm taking things too seriously, but it just seemed like such a massive and uncomfortable tonal shift.

Half-way?

seems did alot more with him it seems, He gets killed off early in the book.

He had maybe 10 minutes of screentime. Maybe.
