Urm no. Not at the expense of the city. If I was protecting a murderer because he was "family" I doubt anyone would see that as a noble cause. Just a selfish one.
Besides which she doesn't even do that. She watched/let her own son go on a ship she knew was going to drown. And took part in her husband's murder.

Lies come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Ollie's lies are to help him protect the whole city including the people he's lying to. Martha's lies have all been pretty selfish as far as I've seen. Her lies aided in mass murder for GOD's sake!

Valid points, Darth Power. I honestly didn't take into consideration all of that. For what reason, I have no clue. But I do still like the character and still think Olli is over reacting to not being in the loop. Considering what Merlyn did to the city, she had to keep the girl away. Even if it was selfish.
