I'm not sure. I do think Game Pass is a compelling selling feature and with the acquisitions MS has made...there should be a ton of new first party titles that you can download day one.
For the price and Game Pass, get a series S. It will probably be 3-4 years before there is slim or console refresh. If you haven't played any MS titles in the last 7-10 years, you can download all of them through Game Pass.
Got the Series X.
It's smaller than I expected. It's nice and kind of blends into the media area.
Relatively easy to setup...uses a phone app to do so (but I think you can set it up without using the app). Asks to download settings from previous console and it worked flawlessly.
It's virtually silent...even close by I can't hear a single thing. It's warm but you can clearly feel the heat coming out the vent at the top.
And man....booting up for Sleep Mode is instant....like crazy fast.

Granted, Bethesda games will be on Game Pass PC as well.
After playing around with the Series X, at the price point, you cannot get a similar PC. It's a compelling piece of hardware.
Now that EA Play is on Game Pass Ultimate, I downloaded Madden 20 (haven't played Madden in 8-9 years)....and the loading times are ****ing quick.
I'm not sure but I might pick up an Series S down the road for the kids and media centre.

Do you guys think it'd be worth it to buy an Xbox series S now and wait for a potential PS5 slim/pro down the line?I'd have always been a PS guy myself, but dat game pass and prices dayum.
I think it’d be a fine idea. I think the series S will be fine for a few years but I expect it to start hamstringing games that start pushing the next gen consoles to their limits in a few years. But by then you’d have a PS5 so it wouldn’t be a problem.
Personally I think I’m going to get a PS5 first and an Xbox series x down the line. Not really any Xbox exclusives I care about coming out soon.

That sounds so good. I’m so happy that reports are both consoles are quiet this time.
Yeah, it's pretty silent. What is also neat is Quick Resume with multiple games and Xbox One games work natively (unlike 360 games..which is emulated)
If you can consider this a PC, it's a killer piece of hardware. You will be hard press to find a comparable PC in terms of power, ray tracing, quietness and cooling. Also...the loading speeds are better on this machine than any PC out there (or so I have heard).
And you get a controller...for $499...great deal. I would assume the PS5 would be in the same boat.
