Current Gen Console Discussions (PS5, Xbox Series X, Switch (Pro?) OFFICIAL THREAD

It's generally alright, just can be kind of a nuisance. You can get into this scenario where you forgot to charge it the day before, and now when you sit down to play you can't and need to charge it. Happens more than I'd like.

It's just weird cuz the PS3 controller had like a 30 hour battery, dunno what happened here. Guess like Smas said, could just be the touchpad, or maybe the really bright light on each controller. Dunno how much energy those things use.

That happened to me with the 360 controller and I got annoyed.

But I guess you don't notice it that much until you play with a controller that takes awhile to discharge.

I do remember when both consoles were announced, the shooter crowd like having the ability to put in batteries because it meant they can play right away again.

I took the liberty of changing the titles of the two console discussion threads from current to last gen.

I hope you don't mind, Peach and GK. 🙂

Makes sense: they are all out, now.

Yeah, that's actually something I always liked about the 360, just having that option was nice for emergency moments. Plus I have rechargeable batteries so it wasn't much of an issue.

True.

And because it's 30 hours or so of life, you are not shelling out a ton of cash for batteries.

Supposedly, one of the reasons the controller has such good life is from the Kinect. I guess it knows when you put the controller done and somehow puts it in some kind of sleep mode/converse mode.

I heard about that, nice feature. PS4 has a feature like that for the controller but it doesn't seem to work very well.

I just recently discovered the vertical stand for the PS4 doesn't come with the console but sold separately for $20. That's stupid. You can still make it stand vertically even without the stand but it would be good to have something to make it more stable just to be safe. Why didn't it come with the PS4?

Money.

According to the latest reports, opening weekend sales of the PS4 outsold XBOX1 by 100k units, resulting in $1.4B revenues for Sony.

Kudos to Sony for making a cheaper, smaller, yet more powerful console.
Good thing we can opt out from the Sony Eye package.

That's pretty good when you think about it.

Everybody was calling for the death of the XBOX. Everybody thought it would fail and it was outsold by only 100k units?

That's not bad.

But the point is moot. It's launch day so the sales figures are only as good as how many you have in stock. It's not a true representation of how well a console did. It's impossible to see what console would of done better because the demand outweighed the amount of consoles that were available.

Well, that's pretty good sales figures as the PS4 units were initially sold in 2 countries and XBOX1 were sold in 13 countries.

Never said it wasn't. I'm just commented that XBOX One probably won't fail considering 90% of gamer thought it would.

Man...The xbox one is fkn huge.

I still don't know which one to buy, probably ps, but its moot because I can't find them anywhere. I really hate it. Happens all the time.

It's not so much that the Xbox One is huge, it's that the PS4 is much smaller than launch systems usually are.

Also, the PS4 is really deep, I almost couldn't fit it in my cabinet.

So apparently PSN was hacked again...

Yeah, I got my password reset last night, had to make a new one. Sony needs to handle their shit.

Yeah, the XBOX One is not that big. It's smaller than a PS3. People saying its ****ing huge are exaggerating.

Is this State-side only, or does it include Japan, where Xbox might as well not be sold?
