Has it ever been used that way before?

And does someone else need to do it?

Sounds like a sketchy tactic either way.. Even when an Op says a character can bring in tech they'd normally have access to outside of their solo comics,, it's not like Batman could just have Martian Manhunter fire off the Leagues laser, or use the League teleporter for a BFR.

He almost always has access to the Carrier, and uses doors quite often.

Also, he's pretty fast when he uses it:

Incidentally, context for my 1st, earlier scan of doors into space - he didn't quite tank being unprotected in space, but he had to heal from it.

I've run an infinite amount of scenarios in my head, and in every one IF wins.

U lack imagination

Midnighter will calculate every scenario and lead the fight to his most favourable outcome.

Lucas Trent wins.

So he uses it like soundwave in Transformers Prime.

Ok, it looks like a good tactic. Shouldn't be unavoidable, though, if someone's not barreling in like an idiot and can detect incoming (Rand was able to tell when Nightcrawler was coming in, and displayed blatant "chi sense" precognitive abilities that let him tell when someone, say, turns intangible on him.. I'd assume a door gives off some kind of energy signature..)

This then goes back to how his battle PC works....
