"its either going to be on another plane of existence or...not the same character"

dont feel bad. mark looks pretty confused as well. perhaps he means luke force ghost? plausible imho and hopeful as that would take all limits off the span of how far into the future this could take place.

Sounds like Mortis from TCW. For those who are unfamiliar with this, Mortis appears to be on some other plane of reality. There three god-like being live with each representing a different aspect of the force (light, dark, and balance).

A perfect example of what I'm getting at, and you all may find this to be a lousy example...but, The Force Unleashed...the original game. The cut scenes were amazing, the characters had chemistry, plenty of energy, and it was just dark enough to keep the suspense high without being so grim that you felt depressed. All I could think of the entire time, was what an awesome adaption this would have been on the big screen.

Oh, god no.

I don't know. Hadn't played the game in 4 years, so I just re-watched all the cut scenes on YouTube, and I still stand by it. I thought it was fantastic. I wasn't very fond of TFU:2 however.

CGI naketh not the storydepth. (Thats what what was wrong with the prequels.) That game was an amusing side story..but there endethed that road...not enough meat on those bones for the epicness we require from feature length SW.

Harrison Ford is open to the idea of bringing Han Solo back to life on the silver screen in 2015, according to sources close to the just-announced Star Wars sequel, but don’t be surprised if his contract includes a mandatory death scene for the sly old space smuggler.
“Harrison is open to the idea of doing the movie and he’s upbeat about it, all three of them are,” said one highly placed source, referring to Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher, the trio that made a hyper-speed jump to global fame on May 25, 1977, the opening night for George Lucas’s original Star Wars film.

While the inclusion of Solo’s storyline in the newly announced 2015 film Star Wars Episode VII, as likely leader and significant other, is still a point of debate, one thing is now clear. A source tells Entertainment Weekly the actor who portrayed him, Harrison Ford, is “open to the idea” of returning if need be. Not only that, he’s “upbeat about it.”

“Harrison is open to the idea of doing the movie and he’s upbeat about it, all three of them are."

Got really excited when I read that. It would just be hard to picture me seeing them all aged there and everything, but, if done right of course, it would be simply awesome having the original trio back.

It just don't think they would be in all 3, however. Ford would be close to 80 by 2021, presuming that it's the traditional 3 years in between each release, but age doesn't always stop actors from doing what they love. God, Christopher Lee is almost 90, and I believe he has returned for a small part in The Hobbit.

yeah i dont know about han solo...that would mean near-future which would limit the story imho. the more time transpired between trilogies would further free the third from the second.

so now at best it will be 30 years from the end of RotJ

only hope would be if, as i had always hoped and feel was suggested in the OT, that the old rule of no marriage and no training of adults is thrown out. evidence: luke trained as a young adult and yoda suggesting that luke train leia. also, what utter crap would it be to have leia tell han "lets just be friends k? im a nun now. lulz"

if not then luke has to somehow scour the galaxy for force capable babies and so there would end up being a handful of adult jedi, all of which are in their late 20's at their oldest. so...like...twilight...but jedi. screw that.

Has anyone else seen RedLetterMedia's review of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? They discuss how the use of an old Indiana Jones completely misses the point of Indiana Jones. Likewise an old Han Solo, completely misses the point of Han Solo.

disagree. i think indy4 failed because they directed him to be a tired joyless crotchety old grouch.

Same thing. Indiana Jones is not supposed to be old. He's supposed to be cool, and young, and badass, and totally awesome, and a f*cking killer archaeologist with a heart of gold. Not grandpa.

i dont think this was posted yet (from oct 30) but it puts to rest any theories that the script is already written since she clearly states that they are in the brainstorming process.

I heard "I have story treatments of 7, 8, and 9..."

Meaning, he has something for those already in mind. That could tie into your point about a force ghost Luke?

And, I was hoping the third trilogy took place 20-40 years after the first one (OT). Seems like the return of Han is making my desire come true.

Oh, and, Twilight characters not supposed to be 20s: they are supposed to be teens.

not the same thing at all. just look at henry jones sr. (in terms of attitude) in contrast.

im amused by r.l.m. and agree with most of their review points (particularly the PT) but its not like their every opinion is gospel

😐

anyway, if they go in that direction then they may as well all be teenage jedi

Henry Jones was introduced as an old man, at it's all we ever see him as. Indy was introduced as... well, Indiana F*cking Jones, whom they turned in to grandpa. Bad decision.

right but in indy4 he was all like "fml somebody shoot a bolt in my head and end my endless monotony"

i think if he was a young-at-heart type of old geezer it would have worked out much better...assuming every other element of the film was not also complete crap.

Well, there's a big difference between "post college age" and "middle of highschool" as far as how characters are generally portrayed in Hollywood.
