Matthew Vaughn wasn't assuring anyone of anything. All he could say was it's merely good, then he called Chronicle fantastic in the next breath, and ending it with an unsure "hopefully people like it." Mark Millar did something similar, calling Chronicle great and this steaming pile just good. The people at Fox can't even get excited for this, the best they can do is say it's not as good as Chronicle.
Yeah I also noticed how Vaughn wouldn't give it any more more praise than simply saying "it's good."

From someone who supposedly read the script....Spoiler:
Reed is a genius convenience store clerk with Ben. Reed's parents don't care about him, and Ben's dad is abusive. They're good friends and have each other's backs. Reed writes a paper for community college on teleportation that attracts the attention of Dr. Franklin Storm, CEO of the Baxter Building research center.Storm has a son, Johnny, and an adoptive daughter, Sue, whose father, Storm's old partner, died in an experiment gone wrong. Johnny and Sue are party kids, and Sue is particularly disdainful of science. Reed and Sue don't get along at first.
Victor Doomashev is a anti-social Eastern European computer programmer and hacktivist who calls himself "Doom". He hates the 1%, particularly Storm, whom he claims corrupts science for profit.
Storm uses Reed's paper to complete some equations on a machine to access another dimension, the N-Zone. Reed invites Ben to watch the machine being turned on. Sue and Johnny are also there. Doom manages to hack into the Baxter Building's servers and use a computer virus to damage the machine, which explodes. Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben are exposed to otherwordly energy and become mutants with powers that they can't control.
Storm takes them to the Baxter Building and creates containment suits for their powers. They begin to train. Reed and Storm also begin developing a way to revert the accident. Sue blames Reed for everything, but they eventually become friends and then a couple. Ben can switch off his powers when he's not in danger. Johnny changes colors based on heat intensity, and Sue has some borderline telekinetic thing. Reed is pretty much Reed.
Doom finds out that the four have acquired powers and becomes angry it's not him, so he comes up with a plan to break into the Baxter Building to access the N-Zone through the rebuild machine. As a distraction, he reprograms a bunch of stolen military drones, the "Doombots", to attack the building. The four come together as a team for the first time and save people.
Doom activates the machine and gets technopathy powers or something, basically energy blasts and making machines obey to him, and a fight ensues. The machine goes critical, and, in order to prevent it from exploding and destroying the city, the four push into it and Storm shuts it off.
There's a countdown before it reaches critical mass. Inside the N-Zone, the four battle Doom again, and manage to leave him trapped there after he disfigures himself soaking up too much power. The Four manage to escape, but Ben gets the blunt of it to protect Reed and can't switch back.
The machine is destroyed, Doom is gone, the four have learned to work as a team, and Reed vows to find a cure for Ben. And it ends there.
Sounds by far better than the original story.

The chorus of fans that wants this to bomb is getting deafening, just so Marvel Studios can get back the rights and integrate them into the MCU. I would like to see that happen, I admit. Fox may be able to get a shared X-Men universe going and be successful, and I'm okay with that. It kind of works better to have the mutantverse in their own world away from the other super-powered characters (it makes the prejudice angle work better.) But getting back floundering properties like FF and Spider Man would be sweet.
I agree, I never had much of a problem with the X verse being separate because for the most part they dont really need to integrate. Fantastic 4 and Spidey however are the heart and soul the marvel universe was built around. Fox can do endless amazing things with the X-Men alone. Fantastic four really needs that connection to the greater Marvel universe to lend them seniority and respect, or they come across as goofy like every fan 4 movie ever.
I want this to bomb and the rights to come to marvel just as much as some in here, but i could care less about the FF (reed is cool though). I want Marvel to include Galactus ,Silver Surfer, Doom, skrulls, etc and whatever other characters (besides the main 4 FF) into their movieverse. I dont want a marvel ff movie, just the other guys that fox has rights to.

I would find it cool if the Fan 4 was in the MCU, but what you just said is about 85% of the reason I want it to happen.

Did you mean "I couldn't care less" ?
Because "I could care less" doesn't really say anything about how much or how little you care about this particular thing 😛

This is what annoys me. People not giving 2 sh**s about FF but just wanting to have Marvel get the rights back so Dr. Doom, Galactus and Silver Surfer can be used. 3 Amazing characters that we should be grateful to classic FF Comics for Imo.

So you would want marvel to reboot fantastic four yet again? And after the first 2 fox movies were trash and this upcoming one seems like a slap in the face to ff fans, you would want marvel to waste time trying to make a good ff movie?
Marvel has their mcu plans all laid out already.
I Suggested adding silver surfer and galactus to the mcu mix, they would most likely be side or backround characters (because they were a part of the infinity gauntlet story).Totally different than making a whole movie about them.

My point is most the so called "fans" here crying for FF to go back to Marvel don't give a rat's ass about FF but just want the rights to go back so the MCU can use the greatest FF Villains who have wound up being the greatest villains in Marvel comics.
I say if you want to use the FF characters then use the FF to introduce them. Give some respect to the family who have given us some of the best stories and characters in the Marvel Universe of you want to use those stories and characters.

Yeah I mean the prejudice thing, plus the Mutant-verse is such a huge Universe in itself it can work just fine(maybe better) as it's own thing.
Fox just needs to give Cyclops his due respect, and then I'm fine with them keeping X-Men.
Originally posted by DARTH POWERI'd say that's reasonable, considering the FF are the least interesting aspect of their universe.

Marvel would make a good FF movie almost guaranteed. The reason the last ones were garbage is because the directors and writers were garbage.
